Bathing Suits For Plus Size Women
With summer a few days away, it is time for me to find bathing suits for plus size women. When I was younger and thinner, I hated shopping for bathing suits, but being a larger person than I used to be, it is even less fun. It is so bad that I would rather poke my eyes out. Hey if I poked my eyes out, I wouldn’t be able to see how I look in the bathing suit! Seriously, I think it does not matter what size you are, all women have had that bathing suit anxiety. The only thing we can do is try to find a suit that will minimize our flaws and maximize our assets.
My favorite plus size lingerie company now carries adorable bathing suits. Curvy Kate is a British based company who has thankfully made the trip across the big pond. Curvy Kate was started in 2009 with the mission to help large busted (D-K cup) women feel confident and beautiful. Although you can find tons of plain Jane bras that look like a straight jacket, it was difficult to find well made and beautiful bras. I love that Curvy Kate has a team of fitting models who are the voice (and body) of the new additions to the line. Until the fitting models give an item a big OK, it doesn’t go into production. Curvy Kate works very hard to create amazing garments that in turn makes the women wearing them feel amazing. With the stigma plus size women face with their size, Curvy Kate is a breath of fresh air. They help women feel confidant and beautiful and embrace their body and love their curves.
Pretty Swimwear For Women
If I am going to go to the beach, I need to at least find pretty swimwear for women. Let me tell you, that is not an easy task. I would even be willing to pay more for a quality bathing suit that was also pretty, but there is just nothing out there. Thank goodness my friends at Curvy Kate came to my rescue! The 2012 Spring/Summer swimsuit line is precious!! In keeping true to their philosophy, the Curvy Kate swimwear line is made to fit and flatter a fuller figured woman. You can choose a bra style top ($89.95) or tankini ($110), both of which come in sizes 28-40 D-K and you can choose a bikini or boy short bottom ($39.95 per bottom piece), which both range in size from 8-20. I was already a fan of Curvy Kate when I reviewed their lingerie a few months ago (which are my very favorites now), but now I am head over heels in love with Curvy Kate!! I was fortunate to review the tankini as well as the bra style top and the boy shorts. The craftsmanship of this swimsuit is beyond anything you have probably seen. The attention to detail is one of the things I love about this company. The fit is perfect and I did feel much less self conscious than I did in my swimsuit from last year. I know some of you may be thinking the price is a bit high, but if you haven’t priced bathing suits lately, they aren’t cheap ladies! And I earnestly and wholeheartedly can attest that you will not need to buy another suit. The only concession I would make to that is you will need to by another suit..another Curvy Kate suit because they are so stinking cute and sexy…just like me!
Curvy Kate is involved in a wonderful campaign called “Star in a Bra” in which full breasted women can compete for the ultimate prize; a one year modeling contract with Curvy Kate. In order to change the way full figured women are looked at, Curvy Kate is celebrating those women instead of tucking them away somewhere. Out of a huge number of contestants, 30 semi-finalists were chosen and from those 30 on 5/30, 10 finalists were picked. This diverse collection of gorgeous women will now converge on NYC for a photo shoot. Based on the number of votes on the Curvy Kate FB page, a winner will be chosen on 6/24. If you would like to vote for your favorite, you can vote here: Curvy Kate FB page.
One reader will win their choice of one top ($89.95-$110) and one bottom ($39.95) from the Curvy Kate 2012 Spring/Summer swimsuit collection.
