Organize Your Kitchen Cabinets
With the holidays around the corner, it is the perfect time to organize your kitchen cabinets.  With all the cooking and baking that many families participate in at this time of year, you need your ducks in a row.  Well, not ducks, but your pantry, you silly!  I am not as on top of what I have in my pantry and what I don’t.  If it weren’t for my husband, I would always be running out of this or that.  He is the kind of person who rushes to the store for toilet paper when we have 4 rolls left.  I am not sure where the compulsion comes from, but it helps us to not run out!  I found some great ideas for getting your cabinets in order before the cooking gets under way.

Organize Your Kitchen Cabinets

  •  Group Items By Use:  To make it easy on the cook, they need to be able to access what they need quickly.  If you are a baker and you keep your cake pans on top of the cabinets, you are making things hard on yourself!  From the bottom of the cabinet to the top, arrange your cooking items you use frequently on the bottom and move up from there.  This way the turkey roasting pan you use once a year isn’t on the bottom shelf and your frying pan isn’t on the top shelf; out of reach.
  •  Keep Like Items Together: If you keep your bake ware in one spot and your pots and pans in another, you are going to find everything you need much faster.  There are many items that can be used to help you organize your items, like a divider for lids to storage bowls or all of your cookie sheets.
  • Store Smaller Items Together: If you have several small items, you want to keep them all together and with a good system in place.  If you have all of your baking decorations in one area and your pasta in another, it makes it much easy to get your cooking underway.  One item that seems to get lost in the shuffle would be spice bottles.  These little guys need a home to keep them comfortable.  A well-made product that will keep your spices nice and neat is The Original SpiceStack from YouTopia products.

Spice Racks For Kitchen Cabinets

Spice Racks For Kitchen Cabinets

I have used spice racks for kitchen cabinets in the past, but they took up a lot of space on my counters.  With my kitchen in our new house, the counter top space is very limited, so I can’t use that kind of spice rack.  I had looked for alternatives but I was really stumped; until I found The Original SpiceStack ($31.95).  I love my SpiceStack!  Before I received my SpiceStack, I had my spices “organized” in a basket!   The SpiceStack holds 18 full-size bottles or 36 half-size bottles.  To make locating the bottles easier, you also receive 48 printed and 48 blank labels.  With the non-skid feet on the bottom, there are no worries that the SpiceStack will fall out of the cabinet.  The great feature that has made the SpiceStack so popular is the vertical stack of drawers that pull out.  You are cutting your cabinet space by a great deal by using the SpiceStack because the bottles are compartmentalized. The SpiceStack fits nicely in your cabinet and it makes finding the right spice easy!
