Using Vitamin C On Your Skin

So, I am having a pretty tough time with this whole turning 50 thing. I have handled every birthday with ease up until now. I am noticing changes in myself that are clear signs that I am getting older. Gack! I have always taken care of my skin and I have been lucky that I have not had any significant damage from the sun or anything else. I have noticed a few little lines and some dryness that I had not noticed before. I know that although I may not have needed to do anything special to my skin, it seems now I do. I have been reading about Vitamin C and how it effects your skin and I was interested in trying products that contained it. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant that helps slow down the rate of free radical damage. Free radicals are the bad things from our environment that can damage collagen and cause dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. Recent studies have shown that not only can Vitamin C help prevent further free radical damage, but it can also reverse some DNA damage you have received. One company that honed in on the importance of Vitamin C for the skin is Ofra Cosmetics, a leader in it’s field.

Using Vitamin C On Your Skin

In 1979, Ofra Gaito, began her career as a makeup artist and certified esthetic therapist in Johannesburg, South Africa. In the 1980’s, she put her toe in the waters in owning and operating a spa and salon which did very well, and prompted her to open another.  From there she delved into distributing cosmetics 10 years later.  After she and her husband moved to the United States, Ofra together with her husband David they created A Line of skin care and makeup products and opened OFRA Cosmetic laboratories and manufacturing plant in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Their products are filled with healthy ingredients derived from plant, marine and vegetable extracts as well as Vitamin C and other organic compounds. When others were pondering if using Vitamin C on your skin can turn back time, Ofra and David were proving it with their products.

I was sent some amazing products from Ofra Cosmetics that I am really excited about. For my skin, I was sent the Vitamin C Cleanser and the Advanced Vitamin C Cream with SPF 20. The cleanser is so light and refreshing and my skin felt so alive once i had used it. Caitlin came in and tried it for herself and she fell in love with it. She has been lucky not seeing any acne yet, and I told her this product could keep her from seeing any. The cream is exceptional in its thickness, its hydrating properties and how clean and fresh it makes your skin feel. I was super surprised that a cream as thick and lush as this would not leave one iota of an oily feeling behind. It is simply phenomenal.

Ofra Makeup.

The makeup from Ofra Cosmetics is unlike any I have used in quite a while. I guess it should not have come as a surprised since Ofra was a makeup artist for so long. If anyone would know makeup, it would be someone in her profession. I was sent a wonderful array of makeup, which included:

  • OFRA Professional Makeup Palette Diamonds Are Forever-$79.00:   This collection of 13 rich colors has a beautiful shimmer to them that gives your eyes an added sparkle! Caitlin had a small singing part in Annie at her school and we used the gorgeous purple and she looked just breathtaking (chocking up here!). I love how smoothly they go on and how long lasting they are, and they are great for sensitive eyes.
  • Gold Rush Eye Shadow-$15.00: This earthy tone with its shimmer to it is perfect for a day or evening look.
  • Fixline Eyeliner Ge-$17.00: This eyeliner is by far the best I have used. It goes on smoothly and does not smudge one bit. Awesome! To make the application seamless, the Brush #1 ($11.00) for Eye Liner is perfect.
  • Purple Haze Eye Shadow
  • Eye Gel Primer – $19.50: This is something you must have in your makeup bag, bar none. If you want to keep your eye shadow on all day and into the night without a touch-up, this is for you.

I could not be happier with this stunning collection of products and I know once you try anything from Ofra, you will be hooked! You can purchase the Vitamin C Cleanser  for $19.50 and the Advanced Vitamin C Cream with SPF 20 for $39.00 from the Ofra Cosmetic’s online storefront.

  4. The Red Carpet Kolour Luminous Body Glow looks like a really neat product to try, that’s my favorite product on the site.

  5. the vitamin C Cleanser and the Advanced Vitamin C Cream with SPF 20 sounds really nice, i find most face moisturizers with an spf feel really heavy/oily and clog my pores. This one sounds really nice
