This is Jakobi’s very first day of school ever. He will be staying with people that he barely even knows for a whole half of a day! He will be fine I am sure, and he will make friends fast. BUT…I want to send him off with a little piece of comfort from home – a homemade fruit pie made from his very favorite fruit cups from Del Monte. I know these are his favorite, because he went with me to Walmart to pick them all out. You can see our entire path to purchase at my Google Plus Album. You can also connect with the Del Monte brand on Facebook and Twitter.
We have been Del Monte fruit cup fans for a long time, and I have caught Mr. Jakobi hiding with his brother Mason devouring the fruit cups in the closet. Jakobi loves the Mandarin Oranges in a cup, but loves the diced peaches in a pie. Another one of his favorites is diced pears. I love all of the healthy snack options. He told me to let you know that so you would not get confused. (Because I know you are all taking notes right?)
Mom like Del Monte for several reasons. The fruit cups are the perfect size, so that means when they do sneak them I am not too worried they will ruin their appetite. They are also made from 100% fruit which makes me happy that they are sneaking good foods instead of junk! They are reasonably priced at only $.50 per cup. Del Monte is a trusted brand so I know it is made of good quality ingredients and tastes great!
I feel comfortable using Del Monte fruit cups in my recipes because I know the final result will be one that keeps my kids coming back for more. I also like to just feed them straight from the cup as well. They are super convenient to pack and store, and the varieties available keep my kids interest. They always like to eat new foods and you can purchase all of the ones in the picture below PLUS the no sugar added ones from Walmart. These are perfect to pack in your kids lunch for back-to-school. My kids were hovering over the pictures like vultures because they could not wait to dig in!
