I have been looking for ceramic oven to table bakeware for a while now.  I love, love to cook casseroles, lasagnas and other comfort food style dishes.  My husband and son are not very adventurous when it comes to food, so we pretty much have the same meals over and over again!  With my cooking casserole style meals, I really wanted a good, solid ceramic dish that would hold up to a lot of use.  I made the mistake of buying a cheaper dish and after a handful of uses; it cracked right down the middle!!  My mother always said, “You get what you pay for”, and in this case, she was so right!

Denby USA is a company that has been in business since 1809 and has been selling quality kitchen ware for more than 200 years.  By 1920 you could find the Denby products on many tables across the country.  Some of the colors that the Denby products became known for, like Electric Blue and Orient Ware (matte blue/brown) are still popular today!  The philosophy for Denby is something quite refreshing and sweet.  Denby wants to make products that encompass the tradition of sharing a comfortable, informal family meal.  No bells and whistles or fancy materials; just good products that are made to bring your family to the table.  With the glazes used at Denby, their products are incredibly strong and easy to clean.  Denby has found a way to make their products easier to clean so you aren’t stuck in the kitchen half the night while everyone else is having fun!

When I first heard about Denby, I was hoping their products would be the answer for my search for large lasagna pans.  I think if you are going to make lasagna, it better be packed to the rim of the dish with delicious food.  If you are going to make lasagna, which always says home to me, you need an excellent dish to cook it in.  When I received the Cherry Large Oblong Dish (ARV $50.00), I could not wait to use it!!    I cannot begin to tell you how amazing this dish from Denby is!  The dish is the perfect size for lasagna or any other meal.  It is sturdy and the glaze on the dish  is just beautiful.  Our lasagna cooked evenly and dinner was delicious.  After our meal was cooked, we set it on a trivet on the table and we dug in.  Now that is the way Denby meant for us to eat, wasn’t it?  True to their word, the dish wiped clean with a dish cloth!  Now that is what I love…easy clean up!!  I am looking forward to making Shepard’s Pie next!!
