I am part of the Cedar Fort virtual book tour of Cinder and Ella by Melissa Lemon from June 1 to June 30, 2011. I am also a host of a giveaway of Cinder and Ella by Melissa Lemon. So, make sure you read the whole review to get to the giveaway.

I am a big fan of the fantasy genre especially when it involves a childhood fairytale. Cinder and Ella begins by telling the reader that if you have ever heard the story of Cinderella then you have most assuredly heard it wrong. Cinder and Ella are two very different girls that their mother, while being absent in mind, melded them together to one person, Cinderella. Cinder goes on to the castle to help with the day to day affairs while Ella leaves home to seek her own meaning of happiness. When Cinder, the only one who notices Ella had left her home, cries over little sister’s disappearance,  a passerby, Tanner, hears her cries and offers to help. This is when the adventure begins.

Cinder and Ella is a story that every person can relate to. It explores the family dynamic and brings to light how “happily ever after” can mean something completely different from person to person. I can relate with the character Ella as she is the one who goes out and makes her own way and finds her own meaning of happiness. Cinder and Ella is a delightful read and a wonderful story to curl up with.
