Clothing for Active Girls and Women
With summer approaching, I am guessing many people are looking for clothing for active girls and women. Personally, I put off the whole summer clothing issue as long as humanly possible! I have several friends that are already spending time at the lake or beach, so they have gotten a head start on their summer wardrobe. My kids have already had a day or two this Spring to play outside with water balloon fights and helping wash the car. Thankfully their swim suites still fit from last year, so we don’t need to purchase any suits for them. On the other hand, my husband and I both need to get motivated to shop for ours, but I think we should get motivated to exercise before we take on that shopping trip.
In 1990, the Quiksilver company recognized a need for affordable, stylish and practical swim wear for the female surfers who were taking the coast by storm. They saw a huge need for swim wear and board shorts for female surfers who were gaining recognition in their sport. With this need, Roxy was born and within their first year they saw over $1 million in sales. By 1992, Roxy incorporated snow wear and denim and their sales continued to skyrocket. In 1994 the Roxy company struck gold when Lisa Anderson, the then ASP female world champion joined the Roxy staff. Within in a short time, Roxy’s board shorts were THE trend for surfers and beach goers alike. Since then Roxy has been connected to several ASP events all over the world. With their customer base growing rapidly, a need was found for girls clothing for the 7-14 age group.
Tote Bags for The Beach
If you are going to spend the week-end, week or day in the water, you need tote bags for the beach, lake or pool. With the core target of Roxy being younger women, I wasn’t sure what I would find for us older, less thin gals. When you see their thought process about their line you can see the inspiration. Their motto is for the Roxy brand to be for “Daring, confident, naturally beautiful, fun and alive girls and women everywhere. It was easy to choose an adorable sun dress and shirt for Caitlin. What I loved about the dress is the thoughtful design which will take you from a day at the beach to a dinner on the pier. Put on a pair of cute sandals and you are ready for a night on the town. I am a bag hoarder and I cannot honestly tell you how many I have stashed all over my house! The Roxy line includes a fantastic beach bag that is large enough to fit all the things you need to have a successful day at the lake or beach. I hate most beach bags that are that ugly and loud floral print you usually see! The trendy bag (valued at $28.00) from Roxy was so well made, has a ton of room and the orange and white stripe bag I chose (Go Vols) was perfect for my family. This versatile line is great for the beach bums in your family.
One winner will receive the Roxy Speak Easy Purse (retail value $28.00)
