Romance books

Moll Anderson has come out with a new book, Seductive Tables For Two: Tablescapes, Picnics, and Recipes That Inspire Romance. I just got a new dining room table, and I wanted to celebrate and make it look pretty. I went to Books-a-Million in search of Anderson’s book to be inspired. You can see my whole path to purchase on my Google Plus Album.

In her book, Anderson breaks down what five-must haves inspire romance: color, lighting, music, flowers, and fabric. We have beautiful rose bushes in the front of our house, and I was in luck! A beautiful pink one just bloomed. Did you know it is proven that women feel more romantic when in the presence of blooms? I learned that from the book!

Foods are also an important part of inspiring romance. Fresh and colorful is the key.I chose berries because they complemented the color theme, and they just taste so good!

I scattered pink and white hearts on a textured red tablecloth. I was going for reds, pinks and purples. Moll Anderson also had several recipe suggestions in her book that I cannot wait to try! There is a particular one about a layered salad in a mason jar. It looks so cute!

I added a bag of gummy bears in a linen red bag on my husbands plate. They are his favorite and he hasn’t been able to eat them in a while. I thought I would give him a special treat to let him know I was thinking of him. Going the extra mile and paying attention to your partners likes is important when creating romance.

Every table needs a focal point. a general rule is to keep the centerpiece low enough so you can see your partner across the table from you. I saw this candle table piece and thought it would go perfect with a romantic theme.

Break out your fine china! The attention to details means a lot. Don’t you usually feel more romantic when eating off fancy china instead of paper plates. I feel it marks the occasion as a special one, which will in turn make your dinner partner feel special.

Our table was simple, but it made me feel romantic. It was a far cry from our normal dinner routine. We played music and drank wine. We talked and enjoyed each other. Romance was in the air!

I loved my centerpiece so much, I kept it up afterwards just to make me smile and reminisce of a perfect evening. You can find Moll Anderson’s in 2013 on Access Hollywood and on her radio show: XM Talk 168 every Saturday at 5:00 pm EST.
