Adjusting to a strange environment is not something most of us are prepared for. The comforts of life are those things which we contrive not to change. A young student moving to a new home, a new school and a new set of friends faces challenges which would bring many of us to our knees. This feeling of displacement from all that we are accustomed to is brought to magical life in Spirited Away. Watch with your children and risk being swept up in the magic yourself.

Responsibility, hard work and loyalty are required virtues to successfully traverse Chihiro’s journey of discovery. Simple life lessons take on fantastical disguises, but deliver on the ring of truth even as you wonder at things you’ve never seen before yet understand. Through trials and twists, she maintains an honest optimism in her quest to save her parents that can inspire all of us.
