So, when I met my husband he was on the Nutrisystem diet. I went over to his house for the first time, and the only food he had was in a box on the floor. It was all prepackaged food he just grabbed at each meal. He dropped weight like crazy, but he was always hungry. You know how men are; they hardly read the directions. Being a good girlfriend, I read the directions for him. He was only eating the Nutrisystem food they sent him and nothing else. That is so not the Nutrisystem plan! You are supposed to have daily, actually every meal, add ins to supplement the food they send you. An example is my delicious breakfast. Pictured above is the Granola Cereal. I added fresh fruit and some plain yogurt to make the complete meal. Optionally you can use milk and whatever fruit you want. Each meal within the plan requires grocery add-ins. These are usually perishable items, and I like that it allows the freedom of change. So one morning, I can have cereal and milk, and the next cottage cheese and granola, or even yogurt and granola with fruit. So many possibilities to keep a happy palette. you can find the suggested grocery add ins at the Nutrisystem Grocery Guide. To make it easy, Nutrisystem has even split it into four categories for you: Smartcarb™, PowerFuel™, vegetables, and extras. These add ins also allow you to keep the hunger pains at bay. Many of them are “free foods” meaning you can eat as much of them as you like. Please note that the add ins are part of the plan and cannot be optioned out.
Myth dispelled: The Nutrisystem doesn’t have enough food to sustain a healthy lifestyle.
