Key West is known for it’s laid back atmosphere, beautiful coral reefs, the abundance of bars, Mel Fischer, and of course Jimmy Buffett; however, it is not often described for it’s amazing beaches because they are so tiny! This fact is one of the reasons why I was so enamored with the sister hotels by the Waldorf Astoria, Casa Marina and the Reach. The Reach has the largest natural beach in all of Key West and is a frequent spot for weddings. In the short time I was staying at the hotels, I saw three! Casa Marina (above) is at the southern tip of the island and is equipped with hammocks along the shore so you can sway in the ocean breeze.
When you turn away from the gorgeous ocean, the Casa Marina Resort isn’t too bad of a view either. This tropical gem named, “house by the sea” boasts more than 1,100 feet of private beach, the largest the Keys has to offer. A few of the amenities available are pool concierge service at two expansive pools, fitness services, water sports such as jetskis and water bikes, a boating pier and a beachside Spa al Mare.
Wait…beachside spa?
Yes… You can treat yourself to a luxurious rub down while listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean. Can you think of a better way to relax?
The group I was with was treated to a delicious dinner right at the edge of the beach. I was able to sip wine, eat my fill of epicurean treats all the while relaxing as I watched the waves lap over the sand.
And did I mention there were kissing fishies? Go…see the best beaches in Key West at the southernmost end of the island!
