Home Outdoors Essentials For A Day On The Water

Essentials For A Day On The Water

Living in Florida sure has it’s perks. We get to spend time in the sun sooner than most and get to stay later as well. Think of all the fun days you can have at the water. Whether you are at the beach in the sand or laying out on the boat, here are a few items to make your day a bit easier.

1 Somewhere To Get Out of the Shade

The Coleman Carlsbad camping tent is the neatest thing since sliced bread. You can not only come in from out of the sun but it also blocks 98.4% of the sunlight. Look mom, no burns on me. They also added an easy tear strip to widen your tent bag. Don’t you hate it when you can’t get the tent to fit back in the original bag?

2 Something to Keep Your Stuff Dry

Let’s face it, a day at the water means, well water. Featured here is one of the SealLine Blocker/Blocker Lite dry bags
I love how light weight it is. It is truly nothing to loop around another bag or my wrist and keeps all my important things dry. The dry bags come in different sizes so you can keep just the right size stuff from getting wet!

3 Somewhere to Sit

The beach is only as relaxing as your chair. Coleman has updated their line such as the Coleman ComfortSmart InterLock Breeze Sling Chair which has a neon color, and bungee loops laced down the chair to keep you cooler in the hot sun.

4 Need Something To Hold Your Stuff

I just love this bag! It is perfect for keeping drinks cold or your wet suits from getting all over the car.

5 Safety First

If you are going to be out on the water, you always need to make sure you and your loved ones will be safe. My family uses Stearns lifejackets. They carry the Puddle Jumper Youth Hydroprene Vest and Infant Hydroprene Vest. These vests are made from the Softest Hydroprene fabric and Crosstech foam and are US Coast Guard approved.

6 A Towel To Beat All Towels

The PackTowel Luxe Towel is so super light and wads up into such a small spot it would be a shame not to have it everywhere you go! I use mine almost every day.

  1. We spend a lot of time on the water in the warmer months and I fully agree with these essentials! Shade is oh so important. Even when you don’t think you’re exposed to the sun, you often are and a burn is no fun. And a dry box is important, especially if you spend time in a canoe!

  2. I also live in Florida and having somewhere to get away from the sun is a must! I love the beach, love tanning but sometimes I need a little shade! Love the tent and the chair looks really cool! Love that it lets air flow both ways.

  3. These are all great must haves for spending a day at the beach and by the water. I also always make sure to pack snacks, water and sunscreen. I usually don’t pack a sunshade but with our plans to spend more time out and about this summer, I am thinking of grabbing one.

  4. Oh how I wish the weather in Chicago would warm up so that I could start thinking about spending a day out on the water. I am all about having tons of drinks and snacks while out on the water, as well as a break from the sun and wind if need be. As a mom I am always crazy about everyone staying safe with sunscreen and life jackets, too.

  5. These are all excellent ideas. I always keep lots of water, snacks, and sunscreen on hand when we hit the beach. We always bring along a beach umbrella to get out of the sun as well. I’m thinking next time we should do the tent thing, though.
