fitbit ultra

Those of you who familiar with my blog, know that Kelly and I have been on a weight loss journey since the middle of last year if not longer. You can find our posts in Weight Loss documenting our journey. I started out at 172 and today I am at 145. Largely this is attributed to my FitBit Ultra. You can read about my post here: Healthy Weight Loss Competition With Friends Can Make Dieting Fun. In that post I reveal my ending weight as 146, and today I told you I was 145. You will notice that there is not much weight loss since October. What I want to point out is that there is no weight gain either and this was over some pretty calorie-loaded holidays. I have had a habit of yo-yo dieting, so I wanted to reach a workable weight I would be happy with and maintain that weight before starting to lose again. My thought is that if I go slowly and learn to maintain, I will keep it off this time.

FitBit One Vs FitBit Ultra

All of this brings me to my FitBit journey. I really like the Ultra, but the FitBit One is so much better. I lost the Ultra a lot. When I would go to the bathroom, it would slide off my pants sometimes. When I carried my kids on my hip, it would also come off. They gave you an optional belt clip to go with it, but I found it to be too bulky for my day-to-day stuff, and it looked manly. The FitBit One fits inside of your pocket and has a tighter grip. This makes it pretty hard to knock off. The One™ is rain, splash, and sweat-proof, and only needs to be charged every 5 to 7 days.

You can also put it in a slim pouch at night to wear on your wrist to monitor your sleep habits. It will let you know how active you are at night. You can also set a silent alarm to buzz you gently awake without having to disturb your partner. All of your data is synced wirelessly to through your computer and recorded on your FitBit profile online. You can also track your food and water intake so you know how many calories you have consumed and how many you will have left for the day.

What I like most about the FitBit is the social aspect. I am able to challenge and encourage my friends and other bloggers to keep motivated. On your dashboard, it shows you how many steps you and your friends have taken. Right now I am participating in a Million Steps Challenge along with several bloggers and Best Buy in the #MillionSteps Challenge.

You can join us by following along on the hashtags #MillionSteps and #BestBuy or you can use this coupon for 20% off Health and Fitness Products at BestBuy and really join us!
