FunBites Makes Mealtime Fun

FunBites Makes Mealtime Fun

I am still cutting up food for my four-year-old twins.  At this point it’s not due to a chocking hazard, but because sandwiches, slices of watermelon, burgers, etc. are too big for their little hands or because a food they don’t like may be more enticing cut up…although I am not very creative with that so it doesn’t always work! Sandwiches, especially, always fall apart if they are trying to eat them whole.

I am excited to say, I no longer have to try to be creative with my children’s food!  There is a fun product called FunBites that takes care of all the creativity and cutting for me. A mom, Bobbie Rhoads, of 2 children, created Funbites.  One of her children being a very picky eater which required cutting up all food by her or her husband at every meal.  Bobbie came up with the idea to save time and create a product that would cut through and create fun bite-sized shapes and would work on kid-friendly food, such as: lunch meat and cheese to hamburgers, pancakes and fish. With Bobbie’s daughter eating so well, she decided to share this amazing product with the rest of us – in hopes that this little gadget would help our kids eat more, healthier food.

I love being able to make cute little shapes with the FunBites cutters.  You can make one large shape, arrange individual bites into different shapes, make a shish kabob with them, put individual bites on a toothpick, or layer bites on a took pick.  Kids love FunBites too, in fact, a recent Cornell University study found that kids are “significantly influenced by the shape, size and visual appearance of food presented to them.”  The study demonstrated that “kids can be prompted to eat healthier with a little creativity and by making eating fun.”

FunBites retails for $12.99 for each of the two different shaped kits, or you can purchase both shapes together for $22.00 on their site. Also, you should know that FunBites are BPA free and top shelf dishwasher safe. You can win one of each in the Christmas In July Hop.
