Back-to-school shopping time is already here, if you can believe it! Personally, I am struggling to grasp the idea that I will soon be back in the classroom teaching my group of rowdy middle school students. This means that I need to get my behind out to the store to begin stocking up on all of the back to school essentials that my son and I both need.

Aidan will be starting kindergarten this year. I’m not really sure how that happened, but it did, and I can’t hide from it. He will be riding the bus this year, which is super scary for my husband and me. I know in my heart that he will be safe, but for extra reassurance, we decided to add a cell phone to his back-to-school shopping list. I know what you are thinking: a cell phone for a 5 year-old? Honestly, for peace of mind and the ability to contact him when I want, it is worth it!

Why Cricket Wireless is Part of Our Back to School List

All I have to do it head over to the Cricket Wireless website, pick out my phone, and select my phone’s options. No need to pack the family in the car. Their website is super easy to navigate, and all of the information that I need is right in front of me. I love it!

There is no need to spend a fortune. With plans starting at $35/month after $5 Auto Pay credit (1), you won’t have to spend an arm and a leg for your child to have a phone. Plus, there is no annual or phone contract tying you down. Even better, when you purchase online, there is no activation fee!

The fact that I am able to get in touch with Aidan whenever I need to brings me peace of mind. In the event of an emergency at his school or on his bus, I will always be in contact.

Getting a cell phone definitely wasn’t on our radar until we learned that Aidan would be riding the bus. Then, it became a must-have. We set out to find the perfect phone for him, and decided that we wanted him to have a smartphone. Smartphones are great for kids because they serve a dual purpose: entertainment and safety. I like that I can activate parental locks and only allow him to call and receive calls from designated numbers. Plus, he won’t beg to play with my phone anymore! Hopefully, his new Cricket Wireless phone will teach him a little bit about responsibility, too. Did you know, Cricket Wireless is the winner of Time: Money‘s Best Cell Phone Plans for Light Users (Family) Award, and their Best Cell Phone Plans for Extreme Users (Individuals) Award!
