Her new blog tour is here! I loved this series, and I am sure you will too! Here is my latest author interview with Heather Frost.
When did you know you wanted to become a writer?
I always had an interest in reading and writing, but I didn’t seriously think about becoming an author until I was probably sixteen. Up until then, it had just been an impossible dream of mine. After that point, I realized—scary though it was—I was going to try to get published.
How long did it take you to write the last book in the Seers trilogy?
I wrote the first draft extremely fast, about two weeks, the same summer I wrote the first drafts of “Seers” and “Demons”. But when I came back to that first draft and worked on it through to completion, it took about six months. I added a lot to the story, and got to do more with the climax, which I love!
Who is your favorite character in the Seers trilogy now that it is complete and why?
That is such a hard question. As in, quite impossible to answer. But I do love Toni, because his progression as a character is really quite incredible. He begins as the comedic relief, becomes a great example of the complexity of Guardians—after all, he’s “good”, but he’s a thief—and by the end of the third book, we see an entirely new side of Toni; one who feels things deeply. That’s some pretty impressive evolution for a character to go through, but I think readers will be very happy with the end result.
Do you have any new book ideas you are currently working on?
I have a few! I’m currently focusing on a young adult series with magical elements, though I do have a couple stand-alone books, and a fantasy trilogy in the works. Now that I’m done with school, I can dedicate more time to writing, which is awesome!
Who is your favorite author?
J.K. Rowling is awesome. So is Charlotte Bronte, and J.R.R. Tolkien, and Cornelia Funke, and Rick Riordan . . .
If you were stranded on a desert island with only one book, which one would it be?
Today I’d say “North and South”, by Elizabeth Gaskell, because I just started re-reading it, and I’d forgotten how much I love her characters, and writing style.
