Each week I do a guest post from one of my readers. If you are interested in guest posting on Makobi Scribe, please see what I am looking for and why this is such an awesome idea at Guest Post for Makobi Scribe. This week’s post is from Purple Froggie Clay Stuff.

“What makes where I live special”

Even though I really can’t tolerate the sometimes sweltering heat and unbarably icky humidity.. I happen to love the state in which I live, Texas! I was born and raised in Texas. My parents still live in the house I grew up in. My husband was also born and raised in Texas. Most of our families still live in Texas as well. My only sister lives not too far from my parents. My husband and I bought our home and have lived here for 15 years, we enjoy our city because it’s so close to down town Dallas, where all the things that we love to do are. I’m so close to my parents and sister, that I don’t think I will want to move anywhere else.. unless they moved with us. HA!

Up until about 5 years ago when it became difficult for me to dance any longer due to an injury, we loved going to a great bar called Gilley’s Dallas where a friend of our family is the house band. The Chris Rivers Band. That’s him in the photo below.

You can find The Chris Rivers Band every Friday night at Gilley’s Dallas, and for those bloggers out there, that live around the DFW metroplex, I know that you won’t want to miss that opportunity!

In the cities around Dallas, we like to go to the Dallas Zoo or the Dallas Arboretum, which is such a beautiful setting, (in the Spring time) you don’t want to go out there in the Summer time. You’ll get heat stroke! There are so many other things that can be done in Downtown Dallas. Another favorite of ours is the Dallas World Aquarium, which has the most beautiful fish I have ever seen! When you go to the entrance, you will not believe what is greeting you… a very large tank that you can walk under and above your head.. Sharks!

I could go on and on about why I love living in Texas, I could even become a travel guide.. but that’s not what this post is for. It’s to simply let you know how I feel about the city and state in which I live.Sure my husband and I talk about moving to a less populated area, or someplace that isn’t so hot in the Summer time. But what fun would that be if our family doesn’t move there with us?!

If you would like to get in touch with me I can be found on Twitter and Facebook. Or of course you can find me on my blog Purple Froggie Clay Stuff.
