How To Easily Organize Your Kids Room
If you have kids in your home, you have probably attempted to find ways to easily organize your kid’s room.  Over the years, I have driven myself and my kids crazy in keeping their rooms clean and organized.  I can’t begin to count how many times I have said “Everything has a place and if you put your things there, they will be easy to find”.  Yep..Deaf ears on that one.  I usually give in and clean the room myself which drives my husband crazy. I decided to see what dear old Google had to say about organizing their room.  Here are a few great ideas:

Easily Organize Your Kids Room

  •  Make A Plan: Remember that your way of organizing may be very different for a child.  We need to see things from their perspective so we can make the best plan to organize their space.  Look around and see what is in the room and what needs to be put away and the amount of space you have to work with.
  • Sorting: It is important to sort through what is in your child’s room before you should organize it.  A good place to start is with their clothing and then you can move onto their shoes, books, and toys.  The rule of thumb is to donate or toss anything that hasn’t been worn or used for a year.
  • Containers And/Or Shelves: Now that you have sifted through everything, you are ready to pick up what you will store everything in.  If you have the room, bins and containers of various sizes work well and shelves are helpful is space is an issue.  We have a combination of plastic tubs, fabric bins and wire shelving that is hung low enough that the kids can reach them.
  • Labels: Now that you have all of your containers, you need to label them with the corresponding items.  If you have kids who cannot read yet, pictures work great.  If your kids are older, you or they can label their storage containers accordingly.  I found that the labels from Inspire Your Walls are well made and with their large selection, I can find everything I need.

Choosing The Best Labels For Kids

Choosing The Best Labels For Kids

Now that I have found the company I want to get my labels from, the task of choosing the best labels for kids is next.  For me, the best labels are those that I can use for a long time and that I can change the wording on them.  My kids, like many other kids their age, are always changing what favorite things they want to hang on to.  One year it may be cars and trucks and the next year it is Nerf guns and ammo.  With Inspire Your Walls, you have a ton of shapes and sizes as well as in dry erase or chalkboard.  I received the pack of six Flower and Scallop Circle Chalkboard ($10.99 each) as well as the six packs of the Dry Erase Oval Rectangle and Headboard and the pack of eight of the Skinny ($10.99 each).  I had enough labels for kid’s rooms as well as the kitchen, the bathroom and my work space.  Inspire Your Walls has so much more to offer beyond their fantastic labels.  You can also find quality vinyl decals for your walls, laptop, growth charts, iron on decals and family stickers for your car.  So, basically, if you can think of it, Inspire Your Walls probably has it!!
