It seems each week I fall in love with another “guy gadget.” This week I used my new iGrill for the first time. Why it took me so long to try it out, I have no idea. I really could have benefited from this technology in the past. When it comes to grilling I get a little preoccupied with the task at hand, and usually that means neglecting the guests I’m grilling for. Now that I have the iGrill I can interact with friends and have peace of mind that I’m not burning their meal.
The iGrill is stylish and compact for out-of-the-way convenience. I have the black model, but you can get it in white if you like. The iGrill is about 4″x2″x1″ in its dimensions with relatively no weight at all. It needs 4 AA batteries to operate, and comes with 2 Probes for monitoring 2 separate meats. The iGrill is compatible with your Apple products like the iPad, iPhone, and iPad Touch. I use mine with the iPad2. The devices communicate to each other via Bluetooth for up to about 200′. The Bluetooth connection keeps my cooking area clear and safe. I don’t have to worry about tripping over wires and getting things messy.
I had to go to iTunes and download the iGrill Pro app. This process was quick and easy, and best of all FREE! Once you get the app you need, you’ll be on your way to a more relaxing grilling experience. Your iGrill will let you know when your food is ready. You can set timers (cooking time remaining feature) so that you can start the vegetables at the right time. The app comes with food temperature options for food safety, and it has recipes right at your finger tips.
From the convenient stand to the free application the iGrill is a Grill Masters best friend. I won’t grill without it.
