Inspired by Finn sent me an Amber necklace.  I had originally searched for it to help my son with his teething.
I had read on their website:
Among other things, amber is a natural analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-inflammatory. When amber is worn on the skin, the warmth of the skin releases trace amounts of healing oils on the skin. Commonly known as “teething jewelry,” Baltic amber has been a natural and traditional European remedy for teething discomfort for hundreds of years.
Check out the site to read more about the many benefits of Baltic amber. These necklaces are not to chew on!  I had, unfortunately ordered a size that would dangle to far on Mason. and I did not want him to choke (you are supposed to get them where they can not take them off themselves, the one I ordered fit me!)  I thought I could just restring it, but the beads are knotted individually between each bead for safety in case it broke.  I thought that was a great idea.  From my night job of medical transcriptioning my shoulders get tight, so I thought I would give the natural analgesic a run for its money.   I can even twist it into a bracelet for my wrists.
I did find, however, that my amber necklace makes a very nice nursing necklace.  When Mason is nursing, he always plays with it.  It is a very pretty honey color.  The stones are each unique, and some even have little flecks like amber does.  Overall, I really enjoy this necklace and am planning on purchasing one that is the right size for my son.
