Uses For Area Rugs

Adding an area rug to your home decor is such a simple way to add some warmth or just a little splash of color. There are so many different Interior Design Ideas For Area Rugs these days, whether it is on hard flooring or as an accent rug on existing carpeting. They can be used in a child’s room, dining room, or a family room. You can really have so much fun playing around with the different colors and patterns. I had a little area in my home that I turned into a coffee nook. However, the floor in front of it was rather bare. I was pretty excited to find this coffee pattern. Don’t you think it just ties the whole look together? The larger rug in the living room is also from Mohawk Rugs. I just love how soft and comfortable they are.

Mokawk Rug

Can you believe Mohawk first came to fruition in 1878? It was first conceived when four brothers from the Shuttleworth family brought 14 second hand looms from England to Amsterdam, New York. In 1908 they introduced their first carpet, Karnak, which was an instant phenomenon. Since that time they have had product innovations, market expansions, mergers and acquisitions. Mohawk has always remained on the cutting edge of the products it offers and has diversified over the years to be the success that it is today.

Interior Design Ideas For Area Rugs

Are you looking for a few Interior Design Ideas For Area Rugs?  Here are some ways to make great use of them:

  • If you happen to have light colored carpeting that shows every speckle of dirt, adding a coordinated area rug can make a huge difference. Not only does this small addition make a huge difference to that room’s decor, but it also saves the carpet from the wear and tear of children, pets and normal usage.
  • Another great way to use an area rug is for under a dining room table.  Whether you already have pre-existing carpeting that may show stains easily or no carpeting at all, an area rug can add to the feel and comfort of your dining area.
  • Area rugs, or course, are also great to use in rooms that are hardwood where you would like to add a little warmth.  It is also great for adding a bit of cushioning to those floors if you have little one’s running around.
