This is a sponsored post created in partnership with Purina. However, I used their products prior to this arrangement & voice only my true & honest opinions. Fisher is a water cat. I have never heard of anything like that in my entire life and I most certainly did not believe it when I heard it. Then I went on a kayak trip with Fisher, which is a little odd since I’ve never even met a cat that would step in a boat. Mine would try to claw your eyes out if you put them in a car. I realized that day, and many since, that Fisher is a different kind of cat.
A cross between a Bengal and a Burmese, Fisher is a Puma. Tan in color, he has a playful attitude that disguises his role as a desperate hunter. Always selfless, gifts of lizard bones lie scattered around our home like tributes. I really didn’t know that Pumas liked water, or any cat, for that matter. I stood my ground in disbelief and ignorance until, on an afternoon adventure, I witnessed Fisher jump out of a kayak and wade in the shallow water of a Caloosahatchee River sandbar. Another time, the water cat jumped off the kayak and began leisurely swimming toward a nearby mangrove island. Other times it’s been to jump into someone else’s kayak. Totally cool. This is the nature of a cat? It sure is for my Fisher!
