It’s been said many a time that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The proven benefits of a healthy, wholesome breakfast are innumerable, but the evidence of kids need for this breakfast are even greater. Their growing bodies and developing brains rely heavily on the regular intake of food. When kids skip breakfast, they can end up going for long periods of time without food which can create a lot of physical, intellectual, and behavioral problems for them.
Preparing a good breakfast can be as quick and easy as splashing some milk over cereal – something that Kelloggs knows all about. Did you know 1 in 5 children may go without breakfast everyday? Kellogg’s and celebrity Taye Diggs have teamed up to reduce this number as part of the 3rd consecutive Share Breakfast Initiative.
Until April 15th we can all share a breakfast with a child in need with a few simple actions. A dollar will never leave your pocket and it won’t take more than a minute. For each of the following actions Kellogg’s will share breakfast to a kid who might otherwise go without:
- Share the public service announcement featuring Taye Diggs with friends.
- Send out this tweet daily on Twitter with the #ShareBreakfast
- Like or comment on the Share Breakfast Facebook page.
- Pin the public service announcement on Pinterest.
As a dad, Kellogg’s Share Breakfast campaign is a cause Diggs feels passionately about.
“Just imagine what kids across the country could accomplish if they each had a great start every day. That’s why I am partnering with Kellogg’s and the Share Breakfast program to help make this a reality,” said Diggs. “Join me in raising one million breakfasts to help get America’s kids the start they deserve.”
Kids who eat breakfast are more energized and focused. They’re ready to learn! Imagine what a terrible diservice it is to the one in five children who go without. Each day they begin already at a disadvantage, when it effects their schooling this disadvantage could last a lifetime. That is why Kellogg’s and Diggs are leading the charge to help end childhood hunger. That is why we need your help, those quick simple actions, to help provide breakfast for kids in need.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kellogg’s. I received a product sample as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
