Lice Prevention Products
I never thought I would be in the market for lice prevention products, but after a recent lice infestation I found out real quick about all the products available. Â The problem I faced was that the lice problem was on my 19 month old and the typical products aren’t safe on little ones. Â I needed something non-toxic and EFFECTIVE! Â I was mortified when I realized she had lice and I was at a loss of where she could have picked them up. Â We were away on vacation and she was the only one who had them so after a process of elimination I realized that it was from a hat I had purchased, I bought it before we left and put it right on without washing it (mind you it was brand new)!! Â I learned a very valuable lesson wash everything before wearing even if its brand new, you never know who has tried it on before you…I will NEVER again try on hats in a store! Â I was so happy to receive my package of LiceGuard, a review of their items couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! I had done a few home remedies to no avail…
Lice And Nit Removal
One key to getting rid of your lice infestation is lice and nit removal. Â If you don’t get the lice out and get all of the nits you will have a re-infestation in 7-10 days when the eggs hatch. Â Here are the steps I followed: First, Â I used the LiceGuard Head Lice Shampoo $14.99 (applied on wet hair, let sit for 5 minutes then rinse); Second, I used the LiceGuard Robi Comb $29.95 (a motorized comb that kills the lice on contact); Third, I used the LiceGuard Egg & Nit Comb $10.99 (sectioning hair using the hair pick and using the comb to remove the eggs/nits); and Fourth, I used the LiceGuard Head Lice Repellent Spray $14.95 (I used this on her hair, and everyone elses in the house just to prevent transmission). Â The comb worked well but there were some stubborn ones I had to hand pick out of her hair. Â You have to be diligent about washing all the items that comes into contact with the infested person until the problem is GONE! Â I literally did 3-4 loads of laundry a day for 2 weeks to make sure everything was super clean and of course following up with vacuuming several times a day. Â I checked her head 3 times a day and on the 10th day I did another treatment just to be safe, since the LiceGuard Shampoo is non-toxic I wasn’t hesitant to do it again even though I hadn’t found anything (she’s 19 months and didn’t sit still I was paranoid that I had missed something)!
Head Lice Paranoia
To say that I had head lice paranoia was an understatement. Â I was angry, violated and exhausted by the end of the whole ordeal. Â I have two kids and keeping them separate during this time was difficult but having the LiceGuard products to help me conquer the lice infestation was a life saver! Â If it ever happens again, I will go with LiceGuard from the get go! Â And from now on before we leave the house especially when the kids go to school I will spray their head with LiceGuard Head Lice Repellent! Â You can purchase these products at Walgreen, CVS and Rite Aid. Â Check them out on Facebook!
