In today’s market families have a plethora of options to fit their midsize vehicle needs. Our family was recently able to try the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander GT and it was love at first drive. It’s built for the everyday active family, from soccer mom to extreme mom. Today’s family needs a vehicle that gets them from point A to B and everything else too – including entertainment. What it has on the inside is just as important how quickly and safely it can get you there. Check out the box on this baby!
The Mitsubishi Outlander GT offers a plethora of entertainment options. Even, a 6 Disc in Dash CD Player. Today’s market is all about SiriusXM Satellite, USB and MP3 options, and while the Outlander has all of those things I love that it also offers a CD Player. It also comes with FUSE Handsfree Link System. There are even tweeters in the door!
The Interior is fancy enough to make you want to move in and roomy enough that it would be comfortable too! But where to start? The Outlander offers 3rd row, stow-able seating and 60/40 split seats. It’s the first car I’ve seen where shortage of cup holders was not in issue. I counted a whopping 8, finally enough for every person! The Outlander also has neat features like a rear heater and 3 twelve vote accessory outlets. My favorite is the option of the third seat or the tons of trunk space!
While all the “extra” features like Door Trim pockets, 4 cargo tie-down hooks, and arm rest consoles for each row of seating what’s in store for the driver is awesome. Slide into sport fabric heated bucket seats with leather-wrapped steering wheel. The steering wheel also features paddle shifters in addition to audio and cruise controls. The high contrast gauge meters offer a full color multi-informational display featuring:
- Trip Meter
- Outside Temperature
- Average Fuel Consumption
- Driving Distance
- Drive Mode Indicator
The Outlander is clearly family friendly but it still retains it’s sporty look thanks to it’s 18″ alloy wheels and chrome accents. It also has power heated mirrors, a rear window wiper,an electric rear window defroster on a timer and rain sensing wipers! Not only are these things convenient they add to my sense of safety. Not only am I visible, I can see better too. But the Outlander has a host of other features that add to it’s safety, because in the end that’s a mothers number one concern. In addition to Xenon HID headlights, fog lamps and rear LED tail lights the Mitsubishi Outlander GT also boast:
- Anti-lock braking system (ABS) w/EBD
- Traction control
- Active stability control
- Front impact crumple zones
- Airbags on Driver, Front Passenger, 1st and 2nd Row
- Child safety rear door locks
- LATCH system for carseats.
- Tire pressure monitoring system.
A feature not often found on vehicles is hill start assist. You know when you’re parked on a hill and there is that moment of panic when you roll backwards towards the car behind you before accelerating? Thanks to hill start assist this doesn’t happen in the Mitsubishi Outlander.
With all wheel drive and a 3-liter, V-6 engine, the Mitsubishi Outlander GT can take you just about anywhere. With all of it’s awesome features, roomy interior, and safety extras the Outlander offers huge bang for your buck at just $29420 – and that’s fully loaded!
