My family is really into saving money right now and it’s partly because the kids have been learning about money at school. I think it’s great their school tries to teach them financial responsibility at this age because Lord knows I didn’t get responsible with my money until well after college. I didn’t even know how to balance a checkbook until I was about 25 years old! Anyway, we’ve been looking for things like dish deals and great vacation packages online so the kids can really see how easy it is to save a little here and there. They’ve been rationing out their allowances and putting some into savings, too, which I think is a great lesson for them to learn and you know, by the time they get to college I bet they have a few thousand dollars each! I love my kids and I want to set them up for financial responsibility in the future – there’s nothing worse than people who don’t know how to manage their money.
