My #KmartOutdoor 4th of July Summer Bash Patio Preperation

The Kmart that I went to has been in my town since the 1960’s. My mom used to take us there when we were kids to get out of the hot summer air. We used to ride on the toys outside and play in the clothes racks. When I found out I was able to shop at Kmart for this shop, I knew I was going to bring my boys along. You can see our whole experience in my Google + Album. You could tell when you walked in the store they were gearing up for the kids to go back to school and for the 4th of July. When I got to the patio section, I was really impressed with the set up. It was really inviting and I was able to sit down at a patio table while I browsed the complete catalog. When I arrived at Kmart‘s outdoor living section, you could tell they were geared up for the 4th of July. All of the grilling and outdoor decor was on sale for the summer. This is the patio set that I sat at while making my decision on what to bring home with me. So many decisions, but I new I had to get something kind of small so that it would fit on my porch. Our chairs were broken and old, and I wanted to move my wicker furniture outside next to the swing set. This way my guests could have a choice of where they wanted to sit. I also wanted to place this fireplace that I purchased outside with chairs around it so we could do backyard camping activities like roast marshmallows and make S’mores. That is what Kmart Outdoor Living is all about right?

Good thing my husband had a little help putting together our Garden Oaks Living Outdoor Fire pit. We are going to do some testing prior to our party to make sure it roasts hot dogs and marshmallows evenly. Sounded like a good reason for a marshmallow roast to me right?

FIRPLACE PIC SMORES PIC In preparation for my 4th of July Summer Bash, I wanted to make sure I went with a red, white and blue theme. I got velvet Americana ribbons to decorate the backs of the chairs, blue starred place mats, and red flower glasses. I was practicing setting everything up, making sure everything went together, and that  it looked patriotic. After all, this is my favorite holiday of the year! We get to blast off fireworks and we have a big block party. How fun right? I purchased the Jayden 4 Pk. Dining Cushion Chairs & glass table and with my ShopYourWay Rewards Member discount I purchased the set for $179 which is significantly reduced from $299. That left me with a ton of money to spend on outdoor decor decorations and Americana party decor. I was so pleased with how everything turned out!

I mean c’mon, I filled this whole box the patio set came in with trash and old things to make room for the new. Isn’t my new patio table beautiful? The citronella candle even fit in with the 4th of July theme. I was pretty thankful to have it as my centerpiece because Florida gets really buggy and those pesky mosquitoes sure love me!

After setting up the patio furniture, throwing out the old stuff and figuring out my arrangements for my decorations for my block party, I just need to sit down and enjoy my new digs. Pretty comfortable I must say! Outdoor living usually means having a lot of water on hand.

Now off to do up the outside! This was the furniture that used to be on our patio, but I really wanted to create a more outdoor atmosphere to relax in while the kids played on the swing set. I just loved the idea of the solar butterfly and thought it would go great with the fireplace. I set it here to charge by the day, so it could show of it’s glow at night.
