I have been a blogger and product reviewer for a little over 2 years. Can you imagine the disarray my house gets into when I neglect to put things away immediately? Now add two toddlers and a 20-year-old college kid to the mix. They do not put anything away, and they consistently leave a trail of breadcrumbs, toys, food, or whatever shiny thing caught their fancy behind for me to pick up. We do have a (now nightly) clean-up program instituted because MY New Year’s Resolution was to keep a cleaner house. I wanted to be more organized in my life.
Organizing A Toddlers Playroom
I knew the first place I had to start was my toddler’s room(s). I added the s because they takeover like little cockroaches claiming their territory with scattered toys and sippy cups. I moved everything they owned out of their bedroom, and then surveyed my situation. I had boxes and boxes full of toys. They needed someplace besides the floor and bins to go. I find that bins don’t work well in my house because what do you do when you want something in a bin? Dump it out of course!
I decided I wanted shelving. Trinity offers a variety of storage solutions as well as free shipping on all orders. I wanted something simple, yet indestructible. I found this 4-Tier Indoor wire shelving rack and knew that was the key to my happiness!
I like how it has adjustable shelves (in 1-inch increments), so I can accommodate the boys larger toys. I was also able to add in a bin for the smaller toys like the legos and cars for easy transport over to the train table. If they can keep like-toys in the same bins, we should be able to eliminate the bin dumping sessions while looking for Spider-Man.
The Trinity shelf can hold up to 350 pounds per shelf. Maybe I can turn one shelf into a bed? Just kidding, but I thought that was a pretty cool fact because the whole unit only weighs 28 pounds. It was very easy to set up with snap and click joints and feet levelers. This shelf goes for $59.99, but Trinity has offered my readers 15% off their entire purchase through February 17, 2013 by using the promo code: CLEVER0113. I know I will be using that code, because my husband already tried to steal the shelves for his new beer making adventure!
Here is the finished look! What do you think? I am happy with how much I was able to add back in. All the toys that the kids never played with because they could not find the pieces or they were buried are now easily accessible. Such a simple solution to help organize my toddler’s room. Do you have any tips you would like to share with me?
