Vinyl Banners from $12.00
  • Opaque Static Cling w/ Bright Gloss Finish
  • Photo Quality, Large Format Printing
  • Available in Standard or Custom Size

The first time I had heard about printing companies offering vinyl banners printing, I was wondering how I would ever use one, but as you could see I figured it out!  I hung this over Jakobi’s bed and most mornings when he wakes up, he says look Momma trucks.  He loves trucks and it gives him something to ponder while he is still waking up.  After I designed this banner, I have also made them for Jakobi’s birthday saying, “Happy Birthday Jakobi” that I can use every year!  I need to make one for Mason when he turns one, and one for Billy’s graduation, and my husbands 40th birthday, and a “Welcome Home” sign for Daddy when he comes home, and the list goes on and on.  OMG!! I am totally going to make a banner with all of Daddy’s pictures on it of him and the boys, so when he is gone on his long-distance road hauls, the boys can see that he is still there and loves them.  I better stop thinking, my list is getting too long.

Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate

0

Tropical Traditions sent my family a 32 ounce jar of Coconut cream concentrate. I love this product. I add a little water to it to make coconut milk and add it to my curry. I mix it with strawberries and freeze it for a healthy ice cream. I add it to smoothies to make a creamy orangesicle taste. Coconut Cream Concentrate is certified organic whole coconut meat in concentrated form. It contains no additives* (not even water). The dried coconut meat is ground into a very fine powder, giving it a creamy consistency due to its high fat content. Since it is 70% fat, it is a rich source of pure coconut oil. Note: this is a food, not a cooking oil. I am very excited to use this Tropical Traditions Coconut cream concentrate more often to get the increased energy and increased metabolism!!

In addition to coconut cream concentrate, Tropical Traditions also carries a wide variety of coconut products, other healthy oils, cleaning products and environment friendly items.

Tie Buddies

0
“Tie Buddies are placed on childrens shoelaces and eliminate the loops. This allows children to easily complete the tying process while at school or away from mom and dad or until they get they practice enough to tie on their own . The Tie Buddies make it easier for little fingers by providing a pull-tab and the characters allow the child to remember their own story which guides them through the steps to tying.”

These are the cutest…Teach them to tie in no time! Tie buddies came with two charactercars to put on the end of Jakobi’s laces.  The green car follows the red car (or vice versa) around the loop and TaDa!  Jakobi really had a lot of fun with this even forgoing his Crocs and his stand-by train velcros to wear his new car Tie Buddies.

OCEAN® Saline Nasal Spray

0

OCEAN® Saline Nasal Spray is the product my 2-year-old was lucky enough to get.  With the three modes of delivery, I found it was the easiest for him. Per the website:

When held upright the OCEAN® Nasal Spray bottle delivers a fine mist.  Held horizontally, the bottle produces a stream, and when held upside down, it delivers saline drops with a gentle squeeze.  Jakobi is not fond of a stuffy nose, and he really hates it when I put drops up his nose.  Thankfully with the three ways to get it up there, no matter how he squirmed I was sure it would deliver.  There is nothing worse than struggling with your child only to learn that the drops did not dispense.  This has happened to me several times and it breaks my heart to have to do the whole fiasco again.  Jakobi really gets stuffy and his nose gets really irritated.  These drops helped a lot.  You could tell that he was not holding his nose as much after I used them and he slept better after I irrigated.  I would definitelyrecommended all three of the Ocean products I received.

OCEAN Complete® Sinus Irrigation

0
OCEAN Complete® Sinus Irrigation was one of the three products I was sent from Ocean.  This one I alloted to help my husband.  As I mentioned previously, our family was hit with the GERM.  My husband already has sinus problems, so the cold stuffed him up pretty good.  A good friend of ours uses the neti pot, and swears by it.  This seemed to me to be the same thing.  My husband agreed to try it out.  Very funny stuff! It shot up his nose and came out his mouth.  He did it for the full three seconds on each side.  (There are a few options and tips you can use for this product.  We choose to go ahead with full irrigation with the orange tip)  Noah said it was the neti pot on steroids, but 10 minutes later he was breathing through his nose as if he was never sick.  Too bad when he put the cap back on he did not remove the second comfort tip and it all squirted out all over the counter.  At least he was able to get relief for the day.
From the website:
When should you use OCEANComplete® Sinus Irrigation?
  • For general moisturizing during dry climates and cold temperatures, and while spending time in enclosed spaces (e.g., air travel, office buildings, etc.)
  • To relieve allergy, cold & flu symptoms in a safe, non-medicated manner
  • To help relieve congestion by thinning mucus
  • To return moisture caused by drug-induced dryness
  • To help reduce nosebleeds from dryness
  • To moisturize and irrigate membranes following nasal surgery
  • To relieve dryness associated with oxygen treatments and CPAP machines for sleep apnea

OCEAN for Kids® Saline Nasal Spray

0
The day our family got hit with the GERM, my Ocean products arrived.  Funny because there was one product for everyone.  I will be featuring them all, each with their own giveaway.  OCEAN for Kids® Saline Nasal Spray was the product I chose to administer to Mason, my 10 month old, and his nasty crusty nose, the poor baby.  By the time he was done with the GERM he had gotten used to the saline and quit squirming. I let him play with it when I was done, so maybe it was the bright orange cap or maybe it was so soothing to his nose, he put 2 and 2 together and correlated breathing with the orange cap in his nose.  Either way, I got the saline in him and his nose was better, which in turn helped him breathe, made him happy, made me happy and all was well!!  The coolest thing about this bottle is that it has a little space on the side that says This belongs to:______ so I was able to label the bottles as not to mix the GERM!
From their website:

OCEAN for Kids® Saline Nasal Spray provides instant, soothing relief to irritated nasal passages.   The natural, non-medicated OCEAN® Nasal for Kids product has a smaller spray tip to fit smaller noses and contains glycerin for extra moisturizing, which results in less stinging and burning.  Moreover, it is safe to use as often as needed, because it is drug free.

Tropical Traditions Organic Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil

0
Tropical Traditions sent me a 32 ounce jar of Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil.  This oil has all the benefits of Virgin Coconut Oil without the coconut taste.  To read more about the differences between all the coconut oils, read HERE.  I use Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil when I don’t want the sweet coconut taste, especially when I am frying eggs or chicken.  For more cooking ideas check out their Coconut Recipe page.
What exactly is Organic Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil?  Tropical Traditions explains it as:
Tropical Traditions Organic Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil is made from certified organic coconuts that have NOT been treated with chemicals or fertilizers. It is certified organic according to European and USDA standards. Our Organic Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil is high in the medium chain fatty acids, such as Lauric acid. Organic Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil is less expensive than Virgin Coconut Oil, and because it goes through a steam deodorizing process the taste is very bland, unlike Virgin Coconut Oil which retains the odor and taste of fresh coconuts.
In addition to coconut oil, Tropical Traditions also carries a wide variety of coconut products, other healthy oils, cleaning products and environment friendly items.

Mother-ease Cloth Diaper

0

Mother-ease Cloth Diapers sent me a One Size System which includes One Size Diaper,  an Air Flow Cover and a Snap in Absorbent Liner.  I used this system on my son, Jakobi, who is currently using a diaper only for nap times and night.  So, you can imagine I need a good diaper that will not leak.  I was a little hesitant about how this would work overnight with the fabric being so thin.  I was pleasantly surprised when he woke up dry. When they say they use one of the most absorbent fabrics out there they were not kidding. However, he did have little red mark around his legs.  I adjust the sides of the Air Flow Cover and this addressed the problem.  Considering it was a one size I was curious how it would fit my youngest son, Mason.  After a little extra folding and some tighter snapping, the system easily changed to adapt to his size.  I found when I ordered my Mother-ease Cloth Diaper the website (including the shopping cart) was a great online resource for accurate product names and stats.

Inspired By Finn Amber Teething Necklace

0

Inspired by Finn sent me an Amber necklace.  I had originally searched for it to help my son with his teething.
I had read on their website:
Among other things, amber is a natural analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-inflammatory. When amber is worn on the skin, the warmth of the skin releases trace amounts of healing oils on the skin. Commonly known as “teething jewelry,” Baltic amber has been a natural and traditional European remedy for teething discomfort for hundreds of years.
Check out the site to read more about the many benefits of Baltic amber. These necklaces are not to chew on!  I had, unfortunately ordered a size that would dangle to far on Mason. and I did not want him to choke (you are supposed to get them where they can not take them off themselves, the one I ordered fit me!)  I thought I could just restring it, but the beads are knotted individually between each bead for safety in case it broke.  I thought that was a great idea.  From my night job of medical transcriptioning my shoulders get tight, so I thought I would give the natural analgesic a run for its money.   I can even twist it into a bracelet for my wrists.
I did find, however, that my amber necklace makes a very nice nursing necklace.  When Mason is nursing, he always plays with it.  It is a very pretty honey color.  The stones are each unique, and some even have little flecks like amber does.  Overall, I really enjoy this necklace and am planning on purchasing one that is the right size for my son.

Revel, Baby Hotsy-Coldsy Bag and 20 percent off

0
I have found the cutest things at Revel, baby. You can get 20% off by entering REVEL at the checkout. Seeing that it is cold and flu season, and my family has already been hit twice with the evil sicky germs. The Hosty-Coldsy Bag especially caught my eye. Revel, baby says: “It’s our Solution In A Bag! Chilly? Sore? Headache? Fever? Stubbed toe? We’ve got you covered.

Our Hotsy-Coldsy Bag is a 10 inch square zippered fleece pouch filled with a blend of brown basmati rice and flax seeds. Pop it in the microwave for 2-3 minutes for a cozy, soothing warm-up. Or freeze your Hotsy-Coldsy Bag for up to two hours and use it as an ice pack. No more icky, chemical gels on your body or near your foods! Why the zipper? Because we just *know* you’ll use your Hosty-Coldsy Bag often and you’ll want to toss it in the washer. Simply unzip the fleece bag and remove the inner pouch of rice and flax. Wash and dry the fleece bag with your regular laundry and pop the inner pouch back into place.  Don’t hesitate to ask for your Hotsy-Coldsy Bag in your favorite color. Also, please let us know if you would like your bag to be scented with essential oil of lavender, peppermint, clove, eucalyptus or a combination of oils. Other suggestions for our Hotsy-Coldsy Bags: cold winter nights, just lounging around, pain relief due to arthritis, fibromyalgia, tendonitis, sports injuries, inflammation, flu, backaches, menstrual cramps, muscle pain, insomnia, daily stress and strain, TMJ, migraine and tension headaches.” Love it!! Looks like an all purpose must have to me!

Dali Wall Decals Discount

0
Dali Wall Decals sent me a $25.00 Gift Certificate to pick out what I wanted from their site.  I chose the five elephants to represent all the members of my family.  It was so easy to apply, my two year old helped me.  They provided me with a special smoothing tool to make sure all of the bubbles were out of the design and that it adhered to the wall well.  Then, my son, Jakobi, helped to peel the backing from the decal apart from the wall.  This is what we got…
It made him feel so proud to be able to help Momma decorate; and every time he passes the elephants, he would point to who we all were (as elephants).  Also, enclosed with our order were two bonus decals, a nice little extra Dali provided!  A little blue snowman now watches my son sleep; and after we move Mason in to Jakobi’s room, three more elephants will parade around.  Dali Decals goes the extra mile with their customer satisfaction.  If you would like to experience the satisfaction of using Dali Decals yourself, they have offered my readers a 5% discount with no minimum purchase necessary.  Just use code:  Makobi5off
They have also graciously provided one of my readers with their own $25.00 Gift Certificate to Dali Decals.  Just go to their website, and tell me what you would like to order.

Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil

0

Tropical Traditions sent me a 32 ounce jar of Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. I was a little unsure about how the coconut oil would taste with my baking, but I sure was suprised. The flavor is very light and almost sweet. You could eat it by the spoonful, and according to the book, Virgin Coconut Oil, that is just what you should do.

I used it in baking, making smoothies, mock dairy-free icecream, and frying. You can even use it to soften your skin and as a sunscreen!  Check out the FREE Coconut Recipe Website. I am very excited to use this Tropical Traditions Coconut oil more often to get the increased energy and increased metabolism!!

In addition to coconut oil, Tropical Traditions also carries a wide variety of coconut products, other healthy oils, cleaning products and environment friendly items.

Herbal Renewal Lip Balm

0

Marnie from Herbal Renewal was kind enough to send me 3 lip balms to sample just in time for Winter.  If you look at the picture above, you will see the clasp on the top of the lip balm.  How cool is that.  I am forever losing my stuff in my purse and having to root around down at the bottom.  By attaching this to my keychain, I can find my lip balm easier, and I tend to use it more often which in turn is more helpful for my lips.
One of the Balms I tried was Winter Honey Lip Balm-
Formerly called Oh! Honey Lip Balm, this lip balm is perfect for winter, made with jojoba oil and raw Midwestern honey, it is smooth and creamy.  With essential oils of lavender and tea tree, it has soothing and antibacterial and antiviral properties.  And of course, the jojoba oil is a luscious moisturizer.

In addition to Lip Balms, Herbal-Renewal has a variety of soothing and healing items, including Dream Pillows and a variation for your little ones, Sleepy Tots Pillows, to help them sleep.  I used one of these in my teens and I loved every time I rolled my head a sweet resting scent lightly came from my pillow.  I forgot all about this until I came across Herbal-Renewal.  I know what is on my after Christmas shopping list!  Also, Herbal-Renewal has Boo-Boo (greats for bumps and bruises), Just For Mommy Healing Salve (a must for nursing mommies), and a variety of other “Home grown, hand made garden products that renew, naturally.”

Cake Ball Truffles Easy Recipe

1
I found that when melting white chocolate for making truffles this year, it would not melt consistently and then finally seized up.  I was so upset because I had just melted all the bags of white chocolate at the same time (to save time, which never works..lol).  Needless to say, it was ruined, but I knew sometimes you can add oil to loosen up white chocolate, but vegetable oil sounded gross in my chocolate.  The coconut oil was perfect!  It even added a light coconut blend and my white chocolate was smooth and easily dippable.

Here is the basic cake truffle recipe I adapted and used this year.

Cake Ball Truffles

1 box of cake mix ( I have used carrot cake, strawberry, orange, chocolate, vanilla, anything works really) following the directions on the back to make the cake while substituting any butter or oil with palm shortening.

After baking the cake, crumble with a fork and add two big spoon scoops of frosting (mix and match the flavors of your frosting with our cake to create different flavor combinations), I used whipped because there is more air and less frosting making it not as dense.  Mix cake and frosting and press to the bottom of the bowl.  Now make little balls and put them on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.  Put in fridge for an hour to firm.

Melt the chocolate (1 large bag of semi sweet or white chocolate chips) for 1 min at 70% power in the microwave.  Put in 1 T of virgin coconut oil to smooth out the chocolate.  Keep melting it until smooth in 15 sec intervals.

Now dip the hardened (cold) balls from the fridge using your fingers, toothpicks or a spatula into the chocolate and place on a wax paper covered cookie sheet. Now top with graham crackers, candy cane pieces, chocolate drizzles, sprinkles and refrigerate for another hour.

These were a big hit at my cooking event.  I even topped a few with the coconut flakes.

Udder Covers

0
Udder Covers sent me a Nursing Gift Set which I love.  The fabric is 100% cotton, very lightweight, breathable, and the stiff neckline allows me to be able to look down at Mason while I am breastfeeding.  Udder Covers have the cutest patterns to choose from.  In my nursing set they also sent me a Milk Band which I have to say is a very valuable tool for a forgetful Mommy.  You put the band on your wrist and it helps you to keep track of which side you are on, what time your baby ate, and for how long.  I wish I would have known about this right when Mason was first born.  This is a New Mommy must have!
You can win your chance at getting your own Udder Cover.  Just go to their site and pick out which one you would like, come back here, and comment.
