Welcome to Day #6 of Appetizer Week, a multi-blogger event co-hosted by Kim of Cravings of a Lunatic and Kristen from Frugal Antics of a Harried Homemaker. Whether you are a Broncos fan or a Seahawks fan , we wanted to make sure you had plenty of ideas for your game day spread. Each day we will be dishing up a different set of appetizers. We hope you enjoy this fabulous group of recipes. Tune in each day starting with Monday, January 20 and ending on Saturday, January 25. Today is our final day of #AppetizerWeek. We hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have! Should we make it an annual event? I think so!
- Parmesan Cheese
- Asparagus stalks, fresh
- ½ lb prosciutto
- Phyllo Dough
- 1 stick of butter
- Black pepper
- Blanch the asparagus, set aside to dry
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees
- Keep phyllo dough wrapped in plastic or a slightly damp towel to keep it from Drying out
- Wrap the asparagus in the prosciutto in a diagonal fashion to cover from tip to stalk, set aside spears
- Melt the butter
- Lay out one sheet of phyllo paper on a piece of parchment paper and brush with butter.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese and cracked black pepper on half the sheet and fold over.
- Repeat and fold in half again so your phyllo is 4 layers thick
- Now cut with pizza cutters three even strips
- Wrap the asparagus & prosciutto in a diagonal fashion and brush with butter.
- Cook for 22 minutes or until golden brown.
- I sprinkle poppy seeds, parmesan, and sesame seeds on top for garnish

These are so gorgeous. I love asparagus so these are a must try. So elegant, almost too pretty for game day. But I’ll make them anyway. Thanks so much for joining us this week for this event. We were thrilled to have you. xx
I don’t have a favorite, just different recipes
How to Cook Without A Book by Pam Anderson is my favorite so far.
My most-used cookbook is my Joy of Cooking, but my favorite is a cookbook that was my mother’s–her only cookbook, and I don’t think I ever saw her use it (obviously a big difference between us!). It’s called “The American Woman’s Cookbook,” circa early 1950s.
I have the very first cookbook on the list and love it: Vegan Slow Cooking for Two or Just For You by Kathy Hester. I also won some flavored oils from her so she is my fave cookbook lady for good reason!
I don’t have a cookbook
I have many.
Today- The Vegetarian Bible
Better Homes and Gardens! It has the white and red plaid. I love that one. 🙂
