boston whale watchingOne of the best vacations I have ever had was when we went to Maui on our honeymoon.  It was amazing!  We were able to do so many fun things during the 10 days that we were there.  One of my best memories was seeing the whales.  We were there at a time when the humpback whales were returning to Hawaii.  Every year the whales travel for two months from the gulf Alaska to Hawaii, where they call home December through May.  To see these massive creatures breach the surface of the water is just the most amazing vision.

Boston Whale Watching Season

It seems that throughout my life I have traveled as far West as California and as far South as Florida, but I have never had the opportunity to travel east.  I long to travel East, but to the North Eastern region to Boston.  I would love to plan a trip with my husband and children during Boston whale watching season, which is May through October.  The types of whales you may see in the Boston area during an excursion are the endangered Northern Right whales, Minke whales, Humpback whales, Fin whales, and Sei whales.

I would enjoy being able share the experience of whale watching with my family.  It is very likely that while out on these whale-watching excursions we would see more than just whales.  In all likelihood we would also get to see dolphins and seals.  When we were in Maui we did get a chance to go on an excursion to see Sea Turtles, and they also offered ones for stingrays but we did not go on that one.  It would be interesting to see what else is offered in Boston.

Things To Do in Boston

I know there are a lot of things to do in Boston, such as catching a game at Fenway Park to see the Boston Red Sox.  My husband is a baseball nut, and quite honestly, I would love to go to Fenway as well!  Then depending on the age of the children, taking a tour of Sam Adams Brewery would be a lot of fun.  I would also love to stop at “Cheers”.  I would need to sit down and make an entire itinerary, but I know it would also include the Museum of Science, New England Aquarium as well as a lot of delicious food!  Hopefully one day we will make the trip there to experience all of the sites and sounds in person.
