HP Printer

If you have a kid in college, you know they need everything! Well, mine does anyways. One of the things he always needs is for me to print out stuff for him, so this opportunity to experience the HP DeskJet came just at the right time! My son was thrilled to finally have a printer that he did not have to cart around with him, connect with a wire to his computer and have a good quality print.

We wanted to share the news! We invited over 8 moms who have relatives in college to check out our printer. I mailed every one a $10 Walmart card (provided by Walmart where you can purchase the HP DeskJet) and asked them to email my printer what they would use the eprint feature for to keep in touch with their kids. I had this grand plan that we would all purchase something with the $10 Walmart card to send to our kids and bake a baked good to tuck in the box. It was a hit!

Buttermilk Oatmeal Cookies

All the ladies came with a variety of treats and we all had a cookie/baked good swap so each kid got a variety. We also ate quite a few! The ideas on ways to keep in touch with your college kids were funny and some were real touching. My favorite one was:

“EPrint the song I used to sing to her when she was a baby right before she went to bed”

We all thought that the eprinting was a great feature and so did my son. He already sends pictures of his homework assignments printed on the board home to his printer to save time on writing it all out. I also know that I can always say hi or clean your room without disturbing his classes on his phone just by emailing his printer. Then his friends of course email his printer just because it is a cool novelty and they can.

Some of the great ideas you can use the printer for besides basic print and scanning are rewarding your child for good grades with gift certificates, sending e-cards, taking pics of your child’s loved ones or pets they left behind to cheer them up. The fun possibilities are endless. What would you send?
