Picture the bright blue and green of the Caribbean Sea, the white sandy beaches, swaying palm trees and, the sound of the waves washing ashore and feel of the cooling sea breeze, brushing over you and your guests, the backdrop and soundtrack to a wedding in paradise.

A wedding abroad can create a unique set of memories for you and your guests, an idyllic and magical experience from the moment you step off the plane, creating the perfect setting for you and your guests to relax and experience a wedding in luxury and tropical heaven.

With so many wonderful islands in the Caribbean it can be difficult to select your destination, but the wild and natural beauty, the stretch of palm trees where coast and jungle join, makes the Dominican Republic and Punta Cana earning the name the ‘Coconut Coast’ the ultimate wedding destination.

Punta Cana is considered to have it all, the perfect municipal destination on the eastern side of the Caribbean. Punta Cana has a tropical climate and temperatures are consistently 25 – 28  degrees throughout the year.

Punta Cana wedding packages boats 50 miles of duvet soft, sandy white beaches, turquoise waters and there numerous luxury resorts in Punta Cana available, the world’s best beaches are located here and there is a huge ecological reserve showcasing some of the most magnificent marine life. Punta Cana sports a wide range of resorts and hotels from cane thatched sanctuaries or five-star luxury hotels, with many resorts with high quality golf courses including Jack Nicklaus designed courses. In the heart of Punta Cana the many bars spill out the sounds of Bachata music, a truly Caribbean climate and culture for you and your guests to enjoy. Arrange the wedding in March and you can experience the Punta Cana carnival showcasing Dominican culture.

What can you and your guests do?

Before and after the wedding there is plenty to experience in Punta Cana. Consider a trip to Samana, a northeast peninsula 30 minutes by plane. Hire safari trucks up into the mountainous terrain and experience true Dominican. You can then take a horse ride for 30 minute ride to “El Salto del Limon” one of the country’s most famous and beautiful waterfalls, and cool off in the crystal clear waters. A perfect honeymoon experience.

Take a tour to “Cayo Levantado”, also known as Bacardi island to experience the bar set amongst the palm trees.  Reach the island on board a glass bottom boat allowing you to view the extraordinary colours of the sea life along the Punta Cana coastline.  Head to the “Marinarium” which is a marine life oasis set in the middle of the ocean and take the opportunity to snorkel and scuba and swim with stingrays.

Although you may think that a wedding in such a beautiful place like Punta Cana should cost a small fortune, the prices of weddings here are actually significantly cheaper than back at home. There are many different packages available for you to choose from and you will find that for the same price as you could rent a church and rooms for the reception in the US, that you could comfortably pay for many of the higher-end packages. Weddings aren’t cheap but if you are going to shell out then why not do it in a location as stunning as Punta Cana.
