For a lot of years, I was that girl who could eat just about anything and it did not go straight to my hips. As with many women, after having a few kids and a pretty bad injury, I started to gain weight. I wish I could say it was like the “freshman 15”, but it was more like the “40 in your 40’s” weight gain. After struggling with my weight for over 10 years now, I decided I have had enough. I am eating organic and non-GMO foods and have stopped eating red meat. I am eating a lot of fresh fruits and veggies and whole grains. One of the things I have recently begun to drink and actually enjoy a lot, are smoothies. I have never been a huge fruit person anyway, so drinking a healthy smoothie instead of a milkshake was a foreign concept to me. I have been drinking smoothies for a few months now and I really look forward to them each morning.
I read adding kale or spinach to your favorite fruit smoothie could add a lot of nutrients but would not make it taste like a liquid salad. I could not believe it was possible, but it is absolutely delicious! Making my morning smoothie is fast and easy when I use my BLACK+DECKER FusionBlade™ Digital Blender. You can find this amazing must have small kitchen appliance at your local Target for just $50. I have been a BLACK+DECKER appliance user for many years and this FusionBlade™ Digital Blender is my new favorite toy in the kitchen and I use it at least once a day. With the 4-Function Automatic Digital Control with Pulse, you can easily set the blender for crushing ice, blending sauces or making home made flour from oats. I love the 2 Tip Stainless Steel Blade because I know it will last me a long time and can cut, chop, puree, or crush whatever I put in it. It holds 6 cups and comes with a 20 oz. personal jar which is great for my smoothies and because it is dishwasher safe, it easily cleans up like a charm.
I love my BLACK+DECKER FusionBlade™ Digital Blender so much I am getting one for my daughter and sister for Christmas. They are both eating healthier as well and I know they will appreciate how well this product fits into that lifestyle. I wanted to share my favorite kale and fruit smoothie recipe. It is super easy to make, tastes fantastic, is incredibly healthy and packed full of nutrients. You probably have many of the ingredients you need right in your pantry or fridge, so making them is super convenient and much more affordable than to buy them from a smoothie shop. You can also substitute ice for the almond milk if you prefer and you can use any combination of fruits in the recipe. You can also substitute spinach for kale.
