Send A Thank You Note

When To Send A Thank You Note

I want to take a poll and ask if there is anyone out there who will still send a thank you note.  Where has the personal touch gone when we would write either heartfelt or sometimes coerced note of thanks.  I was raised by a June Cleaver mom who would have rather dies than to not have sent a thank you note for something or other.  I must admit that I have slacked off a lot lately when it comes to my note writing days.  I must have done something right though as my sweet Chelsea is really good about sending a hand written note for her receipt of goodies.  If you aren’t sure when to send a thank you note, here are a few suggestions from Emily Post herself:

    • Showers:  Be it a baby or wedding shower, if you get a gift, you should send a thank you note.  You know that part where you are ripping through all the pretty paper to get to the goods?  Someone better be keeping track of all that or you won’t know who gave what!  Don’t forget to send a note to the host or hostess who gave the shower.
    • Wedding:  If you have gotten married and received a gift, you should send a thank you note.  When I got married, my mother-in-law was a perfect southern bell who had a receiving table with all of our gifts.  Believe me, they were tagged and inventoried so I would know who to say thanks to.  If you receive cash, you should also send a thank you as well.

  • Baby: If you have a baby, you will hopefully get many gifts to stock that nursery.  If you do, don’t forget to send a note of thanks to these gift givers as well.  If you aren’t sure of what to send your thank you on, you can visit a stationary store where you will find an array of options.  One company I have recently found that has some gorgeous paper, cards, calendars and prints are Rifle Paper Co.

Beautiful Stationery Paper

When I first saw the beautiful stationery paper and other products from Rifle Paper Co., I was in awe.  Anna Boyd and her husband Nathan have created a gorgeous line of paper products in their stationary boutique in Winter park FL. Many of the illustrations are from Anna herself and you can see her love of nature and her keen eye for color and lines.  If you want eco-friendly paper goods, you are in the right place!  Anna and Nathan se eco-friendly paper and ink and the products are assembled in house.  I was given the Citrus Print ($24.00), Antoinette Social Stationery Set ($22.50) and the Botanical Journal Canary ($15.00).  I absolutely love all of my products I received from Rifle Paper Co. and I have even had the opportunity to use one of the pieces of stationary already!

One reader will receive a 2013 Cities Calendar ($26.00)
