A is for Apple..B is for Banana..C is for Cereal…D is for Delicious!
Getting an active toddler to sit down and eat a meal is…well, it’s like getting a toddler to sit down and do anything – difficult! But finding a nutritious snack a choosy toddler actually likes may be even harder. I can only give them finger fruits so many times before they’re wrinkling their nose in distaste. Asking them what they want to eat proves to even be more fruitless (all pun intended, haha) because given the choice they will choose “healthy” options like potato chips and CANDY – yes it’s yelled just like that.
So after I discovered that the new Post Sesame Street Cereal comes with 2/3 of a tots daily whole grains serving with only 1 gram of sugar I pounced on the opportunity to try it out on my own 2 cookie monsters. Not only does Post Sesame Street Cereal come in 2 flavors – A is for Apple and B is for Banana – the boxes are adorned with Elmo and Cookie Monster. I didn’t even have to talk the kids into trying it. I just showed them the box:
It wasn’t long before they were crunching away leaving me to peruse the contents of the box, beginning with the label. They may be worried about the flavor (which was a unanimous approval) but I wanted to investigate the value a littler further. I discovered that along with whole grains the cereal also provides 2 grams of dietary fiber and 3 grams of protein with only 110 calories per cup. It’s more than just a tummy filler so I love to keep it on hand for snack times or even breakfast. Plus, it’s perfect when we’re on the go. The x and o shapes are easy for little fingers to get and hold. Plus, the cereal actually melts in his mouth so my minds at ease, even if he is kicking me through the back of the drivers seat. It has quickly become the kids favorite and my diaper bag staple. Post 1 Sugary Snacks 0.
