Spring is the time of new beginnings. When Life comes out of it’s winter slumber and the rebirth of nature is celebrated. My favorite time of year. When the weather is perfect for all variety of outdoor gatherings with friends and family. Coming in the month of March is the rebirth of a spring tradition beloved by many for the last two deades. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes The Spring Reunion Festival at The Spirit Of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak Florida is ready to carry on the great traditions of spring and strings that we have come to make part of our annual migrations to happiness.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of founders and promoters Beth and Randy Judy and their partners, the traditions and legends of Spring in the Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park will continue for many years to come. This is a sacred gathering for many of us. It is a time to reunite with distant family and friends under the swaying Spanish moss that dangles so effortlessly from the Live oaks. It is a time for impromptu picking, singing and dancing sessions that run into the wee hours of the morning. It is a time to enjoy some of the finest gourmet nosh with seldom seen and brand new friends. Let us not forget it is also a time of music. Legends like Jerry Douglas, Peter Rowan, Jeff Mosier and Jim Lauderdale playing side by side with the next generations to encourage and foster the continuation of the beauty that is music and family. For we are all members of the same musical family tree. We are brothers and sisters along with parents and children and we all learn and grow every time we come together at what has come to be a family reunion for me. Let us all gather for Spring Reunion at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park on the weekend March 23, 2017 for a weekend of celebration and thankfulness for our friends, family and of course, the arrival of Spring.
