Starbucks RefreshersI don’t know about you, but I surely am in love with Starbucks. I love their coffee drinks and have been known to drive quite a ways to get my hands on one. However, sometimes having too many of the kind I like to drink – you know whip cream, chocolate chips and extra syrup in a grande of course – can be a bit harsh on my waistline. It seems that every time I am in an airport I naturally gravitate toward the Starbucks shop and soon enough I am ordering a Grande Frap with all the extra trimmings. I also travel often and stop at every airport stop along the way. Sometimes this can mean FOUR grandes in a day! I knew the bartista could help me, after all that is their job right?

Me (all groggy from flying or taking a red eye): HMdsk mmkh coffee grande alternative cool fhtph! (translation) Oh honorable Starbucks Bartista, do you have an alternative to the yummy frap with all the extra trimmings with all of the kick and not so many calories? I would like it to be refreshing and cool. It is too hot for hot coffee.

The kind bartista directed me toward a new beverage they now offered that was made with green tea and had a sweet taste with low calories. Could it be? Did Starbucks create a drink just for me? I did not even ask the name. I just agreed to try it. I was so thrilled I had now found a new favorite drink! I asked what it was and was told it was Very Berry Hibiscus Starbucks Refreshers. Aha! No wonder I liked it. Once upon a time, I tried the Jamiaca (Hibiscus flower) drink when I was in Chula Vista and had been hooked. I had looked everywhere and could only find it at one local diner. Now I could enjoy it at my Starbucks! Thrilled.

But wait…it gets better! They even have these awesome, refreshing drinks right in your local grocer! So now I don’t have to go all the way to town. I can just drive across the street or put them on my weekly grocery list (which they are). I am a self-proclaimed addict of a daily-pick-me up. I wake up at 5:30 every morning and work, play with the kids, exercise, chase toddlers, go to preschool, come home and do it all over about six times in a row. At 3 pm – I need a pick-me-up or you will find me asleep on the couch.

Low calorie drink in a can

Starbucks Refreshers are light and fizzy. I love the way they taste. It is like my own private vacation in a can. I tried Raspberry Pomegranate, Strawberry Lemonade and Orange Melon. Out of those three flavors, it is hard for me to choose a favorite. It really depends on how I feel. I like the Lemonade when I am outside and it is hot. I like the Raspberry Pomegranate with my food (usually lunch) and I like the Orange Melon as a beverage all by itself. I am thrilled that they are a low calorie beverage and have vitamins and other great stuff for your body in them.

Each beverage is a sparkling, delicious boost of natural energy from Green Coffee Extract you can enjoy anytime. With real fruit juice, B vitamins, ginseng, antioxidants from vitamin C and only 60 calories per can, it’s a pick-me-up you can feel good about.
