Logitech Home Camera

With technology getting more and more sophisticated, it seems like it will be only a matter of time until the “old fashioned” land lines are eventually phased out.  I remember going to Epcot And going on the ride that showed what the future would look like.  People talking to people over the “phone” and being able to see them while talking to them.  I thought that was crazy.  I guess I was wrong because we truly are able to talk to people over the airways and actually see them at the same time through Skype.

Staying in touch with family

Stay in Touch With Family

Skype can now made it to the big screen, well at least your TV through the Logitech TV Cam HD.  This video makes it very easy to have a very natural conversation with someone and move around at the same time.  This is a great way to stay in touch with family who are not nearby, or even a traveling spouse.  To be able to “see them” even when you cannot be near them is so amazing.  If you have that special school project or learned a new move in dance class you will have the opportunity to show them even when they cannot be there physically.

Skype Video

My kids absolutely love this and they are always wanting to call Grandma & Grandpa or Vavoa & Papa, but when they found out they could call the “girls” (their cousins) they were over the moon! They giggled and talked with each other about crazy kid stuff for about an hour. It was almost like having a built in babysitter. It was much easier to talk on the big screen then everyone trying to crowd around an iPad or a desktop camera. The kids were focused on the big screen so their gnat attention span was a little easier to harness.

Skype on HD

This is very easy to set up on your HD TV all you need to do is connect it to your HDMI port and an Internet connection through Wi-Fi® or Ethernet.  That is it – everything you need is in the box!  Skype is already built in, so once you have it set up you can call anyone, as long as they have a Skype account, on their smartphone, laptop, TV, or tablet.  This will ring whether your TV is on or off, clears the full room, it can zoom-in, works in low light, quality audio and video and an easy-to-use remote. Even setting it up was fun and we all chuckled as the kids ran around in circles checking themselves out on the big screen. This unit current retails for $199.99 and can be purchased through Logitech.
