Florida is a dream destination for many vacationers, and Captiva is the creme dela creme in my humble opinion. I have fallen in love with the balmy ocean breeze, the distant soothing sound of waves crashing into the sand, and watching the sun go to sleep in a blanket of orange and pink every night before retiring. At South Seas Resort Island, you have a few options for accommodations: Guest rooms, villas & cottages, and vacation homes. The Suraya Villa is one of the vacation homes offered for rental.
Suraya means ‘House of Sun’ in Balinese which is evidenced throughout the Asian inspired home decor. Perched atop a pedestal, Buddha invites his guests into the atrium style entrance of the Suraya. The sound of a waterfall can be heard in the background as you climb the glorious wooden staircase to the upstairs living area. I was so impressed with the beauty, I did a short video.
The living room has a spectacular vaulted ceiling which opens to the verandah. You can enjoy the refreshing sea breeze while seated comfortably.
Asian inspiration coupled with the spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico, will make you want to stay in bed all day!
Each bedroom has a balcony view and a private bathroom.
If the beds do not entice you to lounge around all day, the bathtubs surely will!
My favorite feature of the Suraya is the stand-up jacuzzi tub. How exactly do you think bathing is accomplished?
This is the view from the balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. You can dine al fresco outside, and you can watch your family play in the private pool below.
The view from the Suraya is nothing short of amazing! For more information on vacationing at the Suraya or about the Summer Just Escape Vacation package (4th night free) at South Seas, see my recent post, South Seas Just Escape Vacation package.
