My husband and I were just discussing about our lack of date nights after we had kids. We never really go anywhere because getting a sitter for two toddlers with someone we trust is pretty rare. We both really love movies and used to go see them all of the time, so when we got Movies on Demand through our cable box, we found a solution. We instituted a mandatory bedtime of 8 pm. This really means 9 because after you read 3 stories (on for Mason, one for Jakobi, and then one for mommy because we share turns) and get last minute drinks and go to the bathroom, time passes…as most of you mommys and daddys know.

You also get to sit in the comfort of your own home with your kids close, but sleeping. We were thrilled at our alone time. Now what would we watch? There were so many recent good movies that were out that we had missed at the theater. There is a huge selection, so finding one that we would both enjoy was fairly easy. Battleship is was.

My husband and I had both been dying to see this movie. It was full of action, heroes, wickedly awesome special effects and even a love story. There was something for both of us. Battlefield was the sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat kind-of-movie, and when it ended we felt it was money well-spent. The neat thing is that it was a 24-hour rental so when my teen son came home, he was able to watch it too at no extra cost.

  130. People like Us. I don’t see many movies so I am not up on what they are about, but I would like a snuggle night with my hubby-for his upcoming birthday!
