Tech That Will Make Learning Fun For Your Kids

As the new school year kicks off, we as parents are tasked with getting our kids back into the habits of learning and studying. That can be a monumental task depending on how much you allow the kids to slack off during the summer. That’s what summer is for though. 1. Codeapillar: This little beauty by Fischer Price encourages and nurtures critical thinking and problem solving in young children. By pulling apart and rearranging the segments of this caterpillar they can program a new path for it to follow every time. Where can you send the Codeapillar?
2. Osmo: How many of you have little ones that basically have their own iPad and know how to operate as well if not better that the adults? Osmo turns what is already a powerful piece of tech into an exciting hands on learning tool with a variety of interactive learning experiences.
3. Vex:  The Vex Robotics Arm is a sweet little introduction into robotics. This build it yourself robotic arm comes with multiple configurations and encourages problem solving in a fun creative format.
4. Dash: My personal favorite is Dash from Wonder WorkShop. Your own personal little robot. Dash comes charged and ready to get down to business right out of the box. With available apps and attachments for dress up, music and play the only limits on Dash will be your child’s imagination.

Let me tell you a little bit about Dash. Dash is a real robot. No fooling here folks. Dash will respond to voice commands and is even able able to navigate around objects in your home. Using apps like Wonder and Blockly you can create new behaviors and and actions for Dash.  My favorite thing to do is attach my phone and video my kids chasing the pets. Robotics has never been so easy. No schooling required.
