Synopsis: This is book two about Dominic Grey and Viktor Radek. They are private investigators of cults and they are hired by an Egyptian biomedical firm to locate stolen research needed for the company’s new life extension product. While on the case they see a group of scientist killed by a cult they believed no longer existed. They go from hunting for the answers to being hunted themselves.
My thoughts: The Egyptian is Book two of The Dominic Grey Novels. The First in the series is The Summoner. The Summoner was well received and has amazing reviews. I came in on book two and while I now want to go back and read the first I was in no way lost. It was a fast read with lots of action. Dominic is an interesting character who is as fascinating as Viktor. They both bring a dynamic to the investigation that is needed. This book as mystery, intrigue, myth, history, science and the occult. I will be honest and say that this book was way out of my comfort zone. I have not read many thrillers like this but it reminded me of The Bourne books with a splash of The Movie National Treasure. Which I loved and while I say it reminds me of those I mean that it just reminds me of them; This book has its own voice and style. Mr. Green is an excellent writer and you can tell he has done his homework. I like a book that you can tell the author put themselves into it and especially with a book like this, he really knows his stuff. This book takes you on wide ride with them as they try to solve the case. I really liked all the places that the book took us. It was very detailed and descriptive in the places and action taking place. Like I said this was not a book I would normally pick up but I liked it and know that anyone who likes Suspense and Action will love this book.
