Restaurant.com sent me a Restaurant.com gift card and an American Express card to pick a restaurant in my area to dine at and review. I love finding new restaurants in my area, so I was more than happy to dine on their dime! I looked up on the Restaurant.com site by zip code to search for a few places in my area to choose from. I found The Great American Grill At The Hilton Garden Inn.
I was kind of curious as to how a hotel restaurant would be. I am a Hilton Honors member, so I have dined in the restaurants attached to their hotels before with success. My Dad had called and was visiting from Tallahassee. I had them meet us at the Great American Grill to give the restaurant the true family test. I loved how they cooked right in front of you. I am a big fan of an open kitchen.
I was dining with two hungry kids, and our server recognized the need for munchies without me even asking. I am always thankful for a sympathetic server! Food always keep the kids entertained and less squirmy. You parents know what I mean!
Jakobi and Mason both ordered off of the kids menu, but they can never agree on one thing. Our server offered to half each meal and put it on two separate plates. This way the kids could have two choices. Jakobi ordered the chicken quesadillas for the appetizer for the table to share. Don’t they look yummy?
He sure thought so! Everyone else had the caesar salad which was made with crisp romaine lettuce and shaved parmesan.
Mason and Jakobi ordered the chicken tenders and grilled cheese with french fries. They also got sides of applesauce as well. Jakobi ate so much he had a distended belly when we were through. He totally blamed the server, and said she kept bring good food.
My husband and Peggy ordered the seafood trio. The seafood was tasty, cooked to perfection with a delicious creamy sauce. The veggies were frozen, but they still tasted good for frozen vegetables. The mashed potatoes were laced with garlic and butter, and simply made the meal according to Noah.
My dad and I both ate the chargrilled steak. OMG! I was sooooo impressed with the steak! We ordered it medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. The cut of meat was comparable to any steakhouse, but the way they chargrilled it was sinful. It melted in your mouth like butter, and you could cut the meat with a fork. So juicy and tender, just the way I like it. I would return to The American Grill just for their steak.
