You know how when you first start dating the love of your life everything is stars and rainbows. This awesome feeling even carries over into the first part of the marriage wrapping you in a good, warm-fuzzy feeling all the time. However, sometimes when you add real life, kids, jobs, natural disasters and other life-stressors; you tend to get in a rut. Do not get me wrong – the love is still there, but the spark is just in need of a little re-kindling. Eureka! I had an idea.

Naples Beach Hotel Review

The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club Resort

The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club Resort is a fond memory from my childhood. My mom used to be a receptionist there when we were in grade school. During the summertime, my sister and I used to play at the resort pool and frolic on the beach. (Pictured above is the view from my room – showing the beach & pool) I used to watch the kids with their Moms playing in the sand while their Dads were off at the Golf Course. There was an open field for family reunion gatherings and games, and one time I even saw a friendly soccer tournament. They had a kids program to keep the little ones entertained making a “beach-style” craft to remind them of their vacation. Naturally, The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club Resort was the ultimate vacation spot for me, and I always vowed to vacation there as a guest once I got older.

This is where my idea came into place. My mom offered to watch the kids for a few days so Noah and I could have a romantic weekend on the beach with no interruptions. I day-dreamed for weeks of sitting surf side with a Miami Vice soaking up the rays. I could picture myself with a book holding hands with my husband while he slept beside me. Anyone with two toddlers knows the bliss of peace and quiet. I was looking forward to a romantic dinner and breakfast in bed.

Naples Beach View

When we arrived at the hotel room, my breath was taken away. We stayed in the Watkins Wing on the very top floor facing the ocean. This is the view from our room. We could see the ocean and the palm trees from our balcony. It was a really nice day when we arrived, but we knew the weather would not hold for long. We checked the weather channel and a storm was due. More on that later…

We were provided a suite with two adjoining rooms with a living/dining area and a bedroom with a king-size bed. The pillows were the softest ever and there were plenty of them. That is one of my favorite thing about resorts; they always provide quality bedding. The Naples Beach Hotel & Gold Club had exceeded my expectations. It was not just the high-thread count linens or the view, but it was the attention to details.

Toiletries from the hotel

I do not care how old you are, it is always fun to see the extras that a resort provides, and The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club went all out. Knowing that at the beach your clothes get salty and will need to be washed, they thoughtfully provided Woolite. You also received the standard shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion combo, but I liked that the vanity kit with Q-tips was also provided. This kit was found in both bathrooms and refreshed each night. It may be silly, but it is the little things that speak to me.

The bathrooms were heaven! The tub had air jets in it which I totally utilized. A bath all by myself with no kids trying to get in or having me fetch something. My husband hung out in the shower which had multi-jets and a magic wand. He was just as thrilled as I was to be able to bathe without interruptions. Pure bliss.

Make-up mirror

Can you tell I am overly impressed with the details of the bathroom? A make up mirror attached in each bathroom helped me make the decision to look for one for my house. Plush, terry robes were also provided for use during your stay.

Having a drink at the bar

That evening, we headed down to the Pool bar, listened to some music, and made new friends. The bar overlooked the ocean and was perfect for watching a sunset. In fact this place is so popular, that on a Thursday night, it was packed. On Saturday, July 21, 2012, the 27th annual “SummerJazz on the Gulf” concert series will continue at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club. This is a free concert by Late Night Brass. The popular and versatile 10-piece band will be performing for the fourth consecutive year at SummerJazz on the Gulf. A popular tradition for many Floridians, the fun, free concerts combine Jazz with gorgeous Gulf views, remarkable sunsets over the water, cool breezes, and a relaxing atmosphere. I can understand why this is such a popular event because the atmosphere is indeed relaxing and the breeze is cool.

The next morning the weather was still holding up, so Noah and I went to the pool. We played like teenagers in love taking turns dunking each other and showing off with headstands. We had a fabulous lunch which was delivered right to our beach chairs from the circling attendant. See the flag popped up on the chair in the picture below. That is how we “flagged” our attendant down.

That afternoon and evening, the weather was touch and go but this just allowed for great storm picture taking and the chance to browse around the covered areas. We stayed at the still-open pool bar for a while and listened to the rain mixing with the guitar player. It was so peaceful. However, anyone who knows Florida knows a good storm only lasts an hour or so and the sun was shining again the next morning.

  1. Apart from water, sugars-free of charge brewed green tea extract is the
best refreshment you may drink. As numerous health professionals can confirm, this is a worrying number.
The polyphenols and to some extent the caffeine in green tea extract increases oxidation of fat in humans.
