If you are a cat person then you probably have come across the name Pam Johnson-Bennett, CCBC at some point.  I actually came across her name several years ago when I was having a behavioral problem with my cat.  I found a message board where people would post questions and she was the behavior specialist who would respond with great information on that particular situation.  I do not remember what my cat was going through at the time, but I do remember being grateful for having found her. Now that I have a kitten, she was the first place I turned to!

Cat Behavioral Problems

Pam Johns0n-Bennett is sometimes referred to as the cat whisperer, but she is actually a pioneer and leader in the field of cat behavior consulting and the go to person for cat behavioral problems. She is als0 the well-known author of the book “Think Like a Cat“.  This book was originally written in 2000 but then on September 27, 2011 released an updated and expanded version of the book.  This book is often referred to as the “cat bible” when it comes to all things about cats.

Cats have long been known for their independence, aloofness, and thought to be untrainable.  However, when Johnson-Bennett released her first book in 1990, it changed people’s perception of cats.  She is the best selling author of 8 books, including “Think Like a Cat”.  Previously she was also the behavior expert for Yahoo, ivillage, The Daily Cat and Cat Fancy’s Cat Channel, as well as, the behavior columnist for Cats magazine.

Think Like A Cat Book

When “Think Like a Cat” book was first released in 2000 it instantly became the “go-to” book not only for cat owners, but also veterinarians, behavior professionals, shelters and rescuers.  The 2011 version is now updated and expanded to provide the most up-to-date information on things such as choosing a kitten, training, addresses behavior issues, unique training tips, veterinary care, nutrition, grooming, bonding, geriatric concerns and first-aid, and fun and game suggestions. Having this book close is like having your own personal expert right at your fingertips.
