Gifts For Music Lovers
If you have a friend or family member who is into music, you probably would like to find great gifts for music lovers. My daughter plays the guitar and ukulele and her dad plays guitar as well. We had some really fun family get togethers if they both brought their instruments. Last Christmas Chelsea brought her ukulele and sang one of my favorite Jason Mraz and Kings of Leon songs. That was a gift that you cannot put a price tag on! When it comes to what to give Chelsea; that is out of my area of expertise. I had to go on a Google hunt to get some ideas for that music loving daughter of mine. I thought you may be interested if you have a music lover on your list.
- Picks: You can find some gorgeous hand-made glass guitar picks that range in price from about $10-$30. No pick is like another as they are individually hand blown. You can also find metal or stone picks that can be personalized.
- Stub Keeper: I LOVE this idea. For the avid concert goer on your list, you can purchase a ticket stub diary! I would have loved to have had this book back in the day. I went to hundreds of concerts over the years and it would have made an impressive display of where I had been and who I had seen.
- Straps: If you know someone who plays a stringed instrument that calls for a strap, they would love a new strap. Chelsea has had her strap for so long that it was falling apart. I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for until I met Amanda Brewer, the proprietor of Hand Made Straps.
Hand-made Guitar Straps
When I found Amanda, I was in awe of her collection of hand-made guitar straps. If you or someone you know plays the ukulele, banjo or mandolin, or uses a camera on a regular basis, Amanda can help you with that as well. What you will be so impressed with is the craftsmanship of the products from Hand Made Straps. Amanda’s attention to detail is refreshing when you see so many products that looked like the maker hurried through the design process. I received the Green Summer Stripe Guitar Strap ($39.95) and the Boho Print Ukulele Strap ($29.50). The fabric Amanda uses on her straps are some of the coolest patterns and colors I have seen and they are such a high quality that you know the products from Hand Made Straps are going to be used for many years to come. The stitching is nice and tight and the suede she uses for the ends are so soft and warm looking. I think that is a good way to describe Amanda’s work; warm, inviting and top notch.
