On June 26, the new Netflix kids original series, DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge will become available for viewing. Based on the DreamWorks movies How to Train Your Dragon, your favorite characters are now on a quest to explore strange new worlds, seek out never-before-seen dragons and end the war between Vikings and dragons once and for all. My boys love both films, and are always looking for the closest thing to a dragon they can feasibly have as a pet. I insist the cat’s claws are as close as they will ever find, but they are irresistibly drawn down into the gila monster/iguana quagmire.

Building on the success of two seasons of DreamWorks Dragons, the third season will be set one year before the events of How to Train Your Dragon 2, featuring 18–19 year old characters. I find it to be interesting and thought provoking for my boys, and enjoy spending time watching it with them. Don’t forget to catch up on all the action before the new season starts!

Also coming to Netflix this month is How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) [PG]. Set five years after the first film, our old friends Hiccup and Toothless explore the island and make a shocking discovery. Will the mysterious Dragon Rider be friend or enemy to the rest of the island? An equal to the first film in action and drama, it is recommended viewing and continues DreamWorks track record of family friendly offerings. Check it out and our other April picks like the latest Netflix originals, Marvel’s Daredevil, Bloodline and Inspector Gadget.
