I love playing with nail polish! My husband makes fun of me because I change out my nail polish so often. I have my nail polish separated into seasons so I am following the etiquette of the nail fashionistas of the world. When I get the chance to try out a new polish, I try to learn a new nail trick or two to make things interesting. When My oldest daughter was here at Christmas, we searched for some fun holiday nail patterns and had a blast trying them all out. I was recently offered a trio of nail polishes to try out from Mundaia Impala. I received the glittery Disco Ball, the awesome Verde Passaro and the pretty pink Garota Pop and was ready to find new art. I found some really great tips for different patterns and I wanted to share them with you.
- Scotch Tape: Using scotch tape is an easy way to make patterns in your polish. Once you put on your base color and let it dry, you cut your tape into the pattern of your choice and lay it on your nail. Next you will paint a different color on top and wait for it to dry. Next you then carefully lift off the tape and you have a cool pattern.
- Reinforcement Dots: You know those sticky circles you can buy in the office supply section that you put on notebook paper holes to keep them from tearing? They make awesome tools for different nail art. You just cut the pieces into whatever you want. I used mine for a french manicure guide.
- Plastic Wrap: Plastic wrap is awesome to use for a marble effect. You need to paint a base coat and let it dry. Next paint another color on a few small areas and then press a piece of plastic wrap on your nail and carefully lift. The result is a really cool effect your friends will beg to know how you did it!
- Paint Brushes: The best brush to use is a small brush with a thin tip. Put on your base coat and carefully paint any number of patterns like stripes, polka dots or swirls.
