I have always loved geography because learning about different places is really interesting to me. I love to read about different countries, the culture, the people, the terrain and other cool information. One of my favorite things to do in class would be to make a diorama or build a structure representing a famous mountainside or landmark. Recently, I have renewed my interest, but have brought the area closer to home; the United States. Henry is learning about the different states, capitals and such with our homeschooling and we are loving it. To make our lessons more fun and interesting, we are using the monthly subscription for the United States from Little Passports.
Visit The United States Without Leaving Home
I love the flexibility of homeschooling and seeing the “light bulb” come on when Henry masters a skill. He loves to read and learn about a variety of subjects, so he makes teaching him so easy and fun. Since we are just starting on the United States, I thought the Little Passports monthly subscription service was perfect for our needs because they send you great information on 2 states each month. The initial box even comes with a letter from Sam and Sofia, a camera, a huge wall map of the United States, a reusable Scratch Book, which he got a kick out of and a Field Guide. Although Tennessee was not one of the 2 states the Sam and Sofia, our tour guides took us on, Henry felt it necessary to use the camera to document the local scenery! How fun is it that we can visit the United States without leaving home?!
How the program works is very easy and is only $11.95 per month, which you can cancel at anytime and each month brings a new Travel Journal and 2 states to learn about. You can also purchase the plan in 3-6- or 12 months for more convenience. Each months brings a 32 page activity book, stickers, pop out models, postcards and links to additional online information. Little Passports has been featured in Parents and Simple magazines and has won several awards. I am a proud Ambassador for the program because I completely believe in it and seeing the excitement on Henry’s face when his box comes and we begin work, is priceless. You can also sign up for the World Edition of Little Passports where Sam and Sofia will take you to one new country each month. We have been to Egypt, Italy and Japan so far and have had a fantastic time! I encourage you to hop over to Little Passports and take a look around and give your child a monthly treat that is fun and educational.
